DONT BELIEVE ANY RUMOURS - if it fits own it!!
Always been a gamble here - and never a guarantee of success - though perhaps with your mention of DES - you will think folks would think twice and learn from their mistakes. I had a couple of bosses try and convince me that DES was a winner and they told me how much they had invested. One even boasted about taking a loan he was so sure.
Of course, we know how that ended - a mate was convinced Northern Rock would rebound and took out a £5k loan to buy his lot. Again we know how that turned out.
Too many guesses and hunches are not always good for a bank account balance.
Not sure why you are so negative pros. We are all adults here and have money to burn.
Trying to second guess the result is futile - people make too many statements which turn out to be incorrect - If I cared about them I would write them down and point them out but I am too lazy and not quite that 4n4l to be 4r5ed if truth be known.
All the same - stay safe all ;@)
Odd that he arrived a couple of days ago and has basically just been rude to other posters here, and nothing of substance.
Saying that being in Leicester and having been in lockdown for so long perhaps a little stir crazy.
The situation here is something no-one would have predicted. The clock is ticking and the drill bit turning.
Not long until the mystery of what lies beneath is revealed. Pointless second-guessing the SP at the moment - there is a scheduled presentation at the end of the month so we may know something by then.
Stay safe, play nice ;@)
Guys - the drill will be done - WHEN - it's done.
The courts have allowed the drill to go unhindered up to now - I do not see that changing in the short term.
A couple of weeks more of expensive kit being used and ferried between Palm Beach and the Ice Max - the two supply ships are on their way back to the IM.
That old word patience may be wearing very thin today, however, it is still as relevant today as it was 10 years ago lol.
stay safe and keep your tongue out ;@)~
Thanks for the updates bynari - as others have stated, we can note the comings and goings of other vessels especially the supply ships which I note have both been on site for a few days.
Having had my share of black dogs and having a taffy name, I declare to my knowledge I am unrelated to Bdt and our views are poles apart.
...has been well and truly hijacked.
Figures now stand 2704 or 56.05% for drilling vs 2120 or 43.95% against drilling.
Whatever the outcome of that exercise of course means nothing as BPC are drilling.
Bravo keith1 = very well presented - we are very much drilling - there is always going to be a risk of a spill and no matter how minor the opposition will jump all over it.
As for finance - I am sure Stena will know already whether they will be paid handsomely for this drill and any other forthcoming exploration wells.
Waste of time being concerned about WHAT IF? Concentrate on the facts as we know them.
Funding- we know the last bit was an awful method.
Drilling - so many worried it would be stopped - it didn't - worried again and it (the drill) continued to spin then futilely worried again only for the drill to keep spinning.
Supply ships - both Blackfoot and Clearview are alongside the IceMax.
Does anyone know what the other vessels alongside are?
Zag, stick a pair of sock ears on him, dress him in a onesie, and get him to play dog - which he may or may not love. No one will be the wiser as they will be too busy trying to buy loo roll and disinfectant again. Stay safe ;@)
Harry - I hear you and I think a few folks may feel the same. We have a few more weeks of uncertainty, though this week should see a couple of i's dotted and t's crossed.
The current funding issue has cast a nasty cloud over proceedings and we should have clarity on that front within the next 48 hours.
In the meantime, I think we all need to take our dogs out for a walk and take some deep breaths.
...why the bleedin' heck would you trust an anonymous poster on this or any other medium.
Do your own research, accept your decisions as your own and only invest what you can afford to lose in the first place.
** You may be able to afford to lose - BUT - How would you feel if you LOST it all? **
If the answer is indifference then feel free to buy - if your answer is negative, then your appetite for risk means you should think twice.
The stock market is not for the faint-hearted and turns worse in AIM.
Stay safe - spend your money wisely - ONLY YOU should be making your decisions!!! ;@)
still runs on and the anti-drillers are gaining - most probably as this is now a free for all.
As I type it is 58.66% (2704) PRO Drill vs 41.34% (1906) ANTI Drill.
One of the mouthpieces - on all such chats on articles "Voltaire" - claimed the most votes on any issue is a couple of hundred, so the numbers are very much skewed either way.
The change petition sits at 87,134 up a couple of thousand since I last looked.
There is a lot to be said for NIMBY'ism !!
The drill bit will keep spinning and we will get the results - the GoB will get BPC back into a negotiating room and will squeeze as much as they can before they claim victory to their kin.
Stay safe - volume is tiny thus far today. No excitement yet. ;@)
...a boss whilst berating me told me I was too highly paid to assume - he then asked me which part of Wales I was from.
As I left that meeting I told him I was from the northeast of England and as I was closing the door said to him - what were you saying about assuming. I did not last long there. Anyway I digress.
My assuming was - the staff at IM I would assume were in contact with the directors in relation to how the drilling is going.
IF the results are favourable (as we all hope) and our management is aware - when would they need to update the market?

Update on Court Process in The Bahamas - Drilling of Perseverance #1 to continue
Further to BPC's announcements of 29 December 2020, 30 December 2020 and 31 December 2020, The Honourable Justice Petra Hanna-Weekes has today provided her ruling on various matters (as referred to in those prior announcements).
In summary, the Court's ruling is as follows:
-- The Honourable Justice Petra Hanna-Weekes has refused to grant any orders that would affect BPC's current operations. This means that the drilling of Perseverance #1 will continue;
-- The application from Environmentalists against the Government of The Bahamas to seek leave to bring judicial review proceedings in respect of various decisions taken by the Government in relation to BPC's licences in The Bahamas has been granted; and
-- A timetable for further hearings has been established as follows:
o A hearing to determine if BPC should be formally added as a party to the action will be held on 14 January 2021. At this hearing, The Honourable Justice Petra Hanna-Weekes will also provide further directions relating to the future hearings detailed below;
o A further hearing to determine the Government's request for security for costs against the applicants will be heard on 22 January 2021; and
o Thereafter, a hearing in relation to the substantive judicial review will be held either in mid-February 2021, or during March 2021, depending on the availability of the Court and the parties, with a ruling on the substantive application to follow at some point thereafter.
Drilling of the Perseverance #1 exploration well in The Bahamas has been underway since 20 December 2020 (consistent with previous announcements prior to Christmas 2020). The well remains on track to take 45 - 60 days from commencement to complete, at which time BPC will be in a position to inform shareholders of the outcome of the well.
BPC will provide further updates in relation to the legal process as and when there are any material developments.
Simon Potter, CEO of BPC, said:
"Today's Court ruling means that the drilling of Perseverance #1 will continue, in accordance with our licences obligations, and consistent with the permits issued to the Company by the Government of The Bahamas. Those drilling operations, which have been underway since 20 December 2020, have the well on track to provide results within the 45 - 60 days period the Company has consistently advised . It is thus clear now that the applicants have failed in their last-minute attempt to interrupt the drilling of Perseverance #1 and the Government's legitimate assessment of hydrocarbon resource potential in its southern seas. This is a very positive outcome for the completion of the Perseverance #1 well."
The information communicated in this announcement contains inside in

continues the narrative with the percentage of royalties the government should receive should oil be found.
He states that the previous government and those within it who were behind the legal constraints imposed in the original agreement are the ones who will benefit. Basically saying the incumbents at the time knew what they were signing up to and would benefit.
The DPM was then questioned further and stated the current government would renegotiate the royalty issue to ensure it benefits the Bahamian people.
Sadly I have lost the link to the video I watched.
It is not about the drilling really - it is all about how much they want the money.
GG - without seeing into the mind of the judge we cannot understand her rationale.
The JR is purely about the government of the Bahamas decisions now. BPC has suddenly been given a bye and therefore drilling will continue until BPC decide not to.
We will have the results from the drill as and when they become available. Perhaps mid-February, perhaps a little sooner of even later.
The judge said: “…The decision-making process has been completed; the decisions have been implemented, and subsequently the joint exercise to which those decisions that were made has commenced. Therefore, to my mind, under the circumstances, there is no decision-making process to be stayed. THIS MEANS BPC ARE FREE TO CARRY ON.
The applicants have been allowed to make amendments to their application - these amendments will be taken into consideration by the judge and whatever panel she sees fit.
The applicant's beef is with the government and of course in turn BPC but the judge has allowed BPC to carry on regardless - the main objective it seems was to stop the drill - THEY FAILED to do that - we will see whether they have the mettle to carry on now they have lost their main objective.
Perhaps they will continue their battle, though once the results of the drill are in we will see if money does indeed talk.
Stay safe all ;@)

Though that in parts was quite enjoyable - unlike here - I think the floodgates have opened and it is all starting but with a different cast.
Stay safe - Remember to eat your broccoli and you have permission to dismiss the green beans to the bin. ;@)
I await bynari and the latest update though - Marine Watch stating all vessels out of range and show up as special/tugs
Less than 50% take-up, though I am sure if the offer at 2p back then when the price was a fraction over 2p would have been well oversubscribed had we had the offer of "we guarantee you 2.3p" as has occurred here.
Pro - that was ramped when it was a mere 13.5p and now sitting at a comfortable 144.
You mentioned you made a killing earlier trading BPC but there you go again with your boasting ability.
Not been much ramping here today - very slow day both on the board and in trading - even quieter on the court front.
