Hi Jackin, also totally confused? I've never seen anything other than complete positivity from TQ.

I'm a little surprised that this note has not created a little more excitement but I do think it will have an effect as it sinks in over the next couple of weeks or so. It is a very conservative target and appears to be based on current business, provision for the DHSC and I'm not convinced that it factors in the LFT ('significant revenue' mentioned in the RNS for this you will all recall) and other new products.

I will admit to being a little underwhelmed by the SP this morning but all in all, I'm much happier to hold for the medium term for all the reasons I listed yesterday as well as the following questions to myself;

1. Is my money safe? Yes, I believe we have more or less hit the bottom of this cycle and there will be a gradual and sustained re-rate.
2. Do I need the money tomorrow or any time soon? No and I would not have put it in the stock market if that was the case.
3. Do I have the patience to wait for this to re-rate and reflect true value? Yes.
4. Do I trust the BOD and GM in particular? Yes, absolutely! Look at what they have achieved in extraordinary circumstances. I would not fancy scaling up to a business of this size and complexity in a pandemic.
5. Is this a one trick pony? No it is not. There was more in the RNS this morning about this than I think some people realised.
6. Am I worried about the doom and gloom merchants? No, they can be irritating but do they have an effect on the sp? Not really.

Anyway, I'm going to enjoy the next few months albeit with a few ups and downs as we lose the day traders, the shorts and hopefully the Bourse! Good luck to all.

Jaspertown. Absolutely nothing and one of the biggest housewives tails on the stock market.

Some share accounts sell small quantities of shares for fees, some people make trades by mistake checking prices etc. I suspect some queer soles deliberately by one share sometimes just to cause this sort of rubbish that we have had about the zero trade today.

Scottiemalottie. This is perhaps not the place to ask for financial advice and opinions in my view as too many hidden agendas.

I posted my views on the company earlier today and I am staying put personally. I do not have all my eggs in the one basket (albeit the Novacyt basket is rather larger than I would normally allow!).

There are six full trading days left after tomorrow's news and all we have been promised is the audited accounts for 2020. There may be some general updates etc. but I would probably prefer to launch the LFT separately for maximum impact if I were GM. Just my opinion of course.

I have to admit that 'The DHSC Effect' has me slightly puzzled. Even with zero business going forward from that source and a hit with a credit note or similar, the oversell has been ridiculous.

I guess it's a mixture of the shorts piling in, inexperienced investors and the volatility and sentiment of AIM all in the blender together!

This will come good in the end because you can't keep the fundamentals down for ever! GLA

I think anyone who expresses a view on what we are going to see tomorrow is using pure guesswork.

The only thing in my opinion that is certain is that tomorrow we will know more!

My own investment decision as a substantial (well for me anyway) LT investor here was made by considering the following points.

1. Novacyt is not just a Covid company. It has a portfolio of over 500 tests, and whilst it has undoubtedly used the current opportunity to garner a pile of cash, it is very well placed to go forward in the 'new' world of diagnostics.
2. Having said the above, Covid is going nowhere fast and there are significant further opportunities here over the next two and maybe three years or more.
3. The company has no debt and there are only 71m shares in issue. A couple of recent posts about needing to do a placing made me laugh out loud!
4. The cash pile will be interesting in the results tomorrow. I predict, with certainty, that there will be more, about the same or less than last results and indications :-). If cash has reduced (and this could be likely in my opinion), the important thing is why? If the recruitment drive and increased R & D has cost as an investment in the future, is that not a good thing?
5. The current share price is daft. I won't go into all the comparisons that have already been made here on the board, but I see very little downside to the currently oversold position. We are on aim, we have been the target of the shorters and traders for a while and this will, in my view, take care of itself in the fullness of time.
6. There is no such thing as a certainty in the world of shares, but as a medium to long term investment, I am struggling to find one as low risk for the potential return as this one. There is a lot of news, strategy and other developments to come. These may well involve dumping the Bourse, acquisitions and or mergers and take-over approaches. All of these would be positive in my opinion.

So, nothing earth-shattering, it has all been said before by many people and it is only my view when I put it all together.

I think ValJu has called it right. Volume on Friday showed people piling in and taking advantage to trade a quick few pounds.

Or traders taking a profit. Many of them would snap up Friday's rise so I would let it settle down for the first couple of hours as would not be surprised to see it recover during the day and even go on a little further.

I wonder if this is Worldquant starting to wind in a bit? They will get their pants taken down if good news is released in the next couple of weeks otherwise. It may also explain why the huge discrepancy between the bought and sold stats on LSE. I don't have access to L2 so can't really see what might be happening.

I think we are all feeling the same Hopeful and that is why we all have to dig in and just be patient. There is no issue for me with the underlying strength of the company and I don't have an issue with the way it is being run. The DHSC is in dispute with a number of suppliers, not just NOVA and that will all come out in the wash shortly.

I agree with you on the bickering. God knows what certain posters are hoping to prove but it borders on an OCD obsession at times.

Having said all of that, there are some gems amongst the crap and I hope that the small core of dedicated researchers and knowledgeable posters keep sharing their finds with us. GLA

Does anyone know if WQ is still holding an open position? I can't find anything more recent than 0.82% on 27th May.

That's still a lot of shares that will need to be bought back if they are still in the game.
