I have no problem with MacMdude wanting to make money by trading.

What I do object to however is the sarcastic and condescending drivel that he/she posts, seemingly deliberately picking fights with other posters in some sort of childish attempt to be seen to be cleverer than other people. Grow up.

It should be no surprise that this has been a positive day. My belief is that this share has been massively oversold and that as the fog clears, people will stop seeing this as a Covid stock. I many a fair old bit with the usual suspects (ODX, Avacta, SYN etc.) during the height and got out.

Novacyt is the only one that I am left in as I truly believe it has a great future. In fact, anyone who knows me from over the past few months on this board will know that I have added on a fairly regular basis to my shareholding and it is by far the largest investment that I have in shares.

Anyway, here's to a good few weeks, the thundering of hooves and the smell of burning toast.

Having said that, the real rewards will come to those with the belief to hold for a couple of years in my opinion.

I can't help wondering if all the algorithm trading over the past few days has been connected with the short. It would not surprise me to find it has been closed but it is only a feeling. Too dangerous to have that open with the news that could land shortly in my opinion.

It's been pretty uneventful over the past few days as the share price seems welded to a narrow band. This always brings out the harbingers of doom, the trolls, the people who want heads on stakes (and if you want to see unadulterated ****e, check out the other well-known bb!). There is also the occasional glimmer of light in amongst this sea of gloom and despondency as a few hardy LTH's talking common sense and using facts stick their heads up.

Nothing that has happened over the past few weeks alters my view that this company is a banker. All it needs is a bit of time and patience. It's been said many times before but this is not going bust, not going to plummet further as all the bad news has been priced in twice.

On any measure of the figures, the fundamentals or whatever you wish to call them, this share is monumentally underpriced.

Anyway, ignore the crap, filter if you must but Novacyt's days in the sun will return and it might be sooner than you think ;-)

A very succinct and very correct explanation of the workings of a P & L and a Balance sheet Try2buylow and thank you.

If you are not familiar with financial reporting and accountancy, I tell students on our Finance for Non-financial Managers courses to think of the balance sheet as like an MOT certificate showing the position on a specific date (and like on a car, the position could be very different the week after!) and the P & L as being the historical record of what happened between two specific dates.

We then go on to talk about key performance indicators and management accounts information being timely information on which to make management & business decisions on a regular basis. The issue with both the P & L and the Balance sheet is that if you don't like what you see, you can't change or influence it, and it should be confirmation of what you already know!

I can understand the desire to know exactly what the nature of the dispute with the DHSC but it seems to have become an obsession with a lot of people. Endless 'reading between the lines', discussion on the interpretation of words and sentences when the truth is that we don't know any of the detail.

I agree totally with RMBinvest that a solution will be found and that no matter what the outcome, Novacyt is in a really strong and healthy place to go forward.

If the same energy that is being spent on endless searching around this issue was diverted to finding good news, that would great, but in the meantime, patience is required. Good luck all.
