Several of them have increased......not just one. Is there a feeling they are acting in cahoots and they know sthng PIs dont. Like size of FCA fine or similar?

It's odd shorters haven't been closing. But as Mark1973 said " bit in that article I don’t like is the “ fca are concerned about metros declining financial position “ That sounds like a lower than we would like offer would be seen as acceptable".

Odey and co aren't stupid. If they thought a bid was happening from a position of strength they would be closing in droves. Maybe the feeling among shorters is that nobody will move until after FCA investigation is completed?

Bid rumours are two a penny. The merlot drinker started one. Who knows if it has legs. Probably just a rumour...

Don't worry. Although i'd expect a temporary pullback (no bid, no cry), i'm sure bid rumours will resurface again

If this had legs, the Sunday papers would've been all over it. Not a peep. I do expect T/O interest but not for a few months, not least due to FCA fine/ investigation outcome needed + T/O rules being prohibitive to any new entrant until the year's high has passed.

The Evening standard did a wine bar story suggesting Lloyds migHt be interested in January....that implies even I feel they were interested they would adopt a wait and see strategy before moving.

They said LLOY may be considering a bid after January. ...we hopefully get more T O speculation or we may be back to questions around FCA fine magnitudes etc.

I'm supportive of the MTRO bull case but bear min mind align research has been buying from much higher and they write investment pieces about stocks they hold.

Dont forget the shorters own shares too, so if they want to control it in a range. My suspicion is that is precisely what they are doing

#MTRO #Metro #Bank as the impatient traders march on to pastures new they all forget the most important thing on many high quality stocks - their bond prices and potential for recovery. #MTRO 2028 bond price improvements are a good sign IMO for share price EVENTUAL recovery!

The buys have been v significant. The SP is being held in a holding pattern to allow for accumulation, hence the whoosh at end of day yday too. So it is inconceivable that we wont get TR1s next week...IMOV

I've got DMA and i can tell you that the sell/ buy ratio is a total misnomer. Yes you can get filled at a price which looks like a sell & you just increased. And vice versa for sells that look like buys. Smoke, mirrors and big shorters closing. On Mon, TR1s and shorts data will reveal what actually happened today. I'm expecting fireworks. DYOR.

I can see the Yanks buying this. Whilst I cany stand Brexit one thing for sure I can see them wanting a bank with 2 million customers by say end of 2020 on the cheap.

I'd also expect activist investors to step in with Vernon gone. CRYSTAL Amber posted 4 times on Twitter about MTRo and have cash to purchase a good 5 to 10%.

I'm expecting a fall early doors, then a rise.
