I see Chrystal amber were posting on twitter about MTRO. They are activist investors, worth hundreds of millions. They own a large stake in HUR for example. Will they and or Elliot advisors make a move following any sp weakness? Dyor, not investment advice etc.

not really. A ratings downgrade was clearly well known in advance, otherwise how would MTRO have responded in 5 mins? Secondly, first sign of an activist investor or two taking a stake, with so little freefloat, could spike the SP . Wonder which of the shooters might blink first? As for the shortes increasing , it was 8.97% the other day....

The fact mtro responded within 5 mins of the ditch news with an Rns means both management and the market knew about this in advance. Possibly the bond targets too. The RNS means more headlines but doesn't change a lot since this could be expected.

I got the identical email Maverick from IR. It didn't reassure me that much. The 18.8% tier 1 ratio did, but the cackhanded bondraising, lack of clear plan B and the rushed out RNS blaming market conditions without any punctuation was just embarrassing.

Forced sale isn't a takeover. Takeover rules state would have to be a minimum of the highest SP in last 12 months. Is somebody going to pay £31 a share when the current sp is £1.93?

Guys, I'm happy for those that have made up some losses but don't ramp this, it could recover, it could go pair shaped. They still have to raise 500 million MREL according to docs from earlier this year. And they made 1 million profit in last half, maybe 10 million this time. Is that enough to service debt with bond coupon of 7.5% and to maintain growth? Maybe , maybe not. Just be careful, and not for widows orphans
