The betting on Eurovision now makes sense, as do stock prices!
There is no loyalty in this poxy world, all that matters is price movements.
I followed the Betfair Exchange as performers appeared and only Portugal and Netherlands saw a reaction that reflected upon the song and performance. Netherlands reduced from 1000/1 to roughly 300/1 where it stayed , and Portugal dropped steadily before it returned to higher odds than it started at! The UK drifted immediately and extending from 560/1 to 920/1
Cyprus got quite a lot of coverage but last night I think Stephen Hawking might have won because the votes went to acts that were stand-ups rather than zany comics! And Switzerland and France looked to have it in the bag until the mobile phone users , the youth that does not appreciate the value of money , handed it to Italy and their heavy metal clowns.
The TLOU shareprice suffers from the same crap. On Sirius , there was a guy called GK , G? Kidney, who spoke authoritatively and for many years and nearly everyone respected immensely. Another well respected poster, Scotman, called him out because he realised that GK was one of the modern day swine who had no loyalty to SXX at all. I am fairly sure GK made a fortune betting against what he was advocating. I thought he was a one-off but now I am convinced he is the norm!
I sold Malta for a profit and ended up losing £12 after staying loyal the Greece and Cyprus , and I see from my phone history that my votes for them were cancelled because the beep beep noise and silence meant I had not gotten through! I bet millions of mobile phone calls were made because nobody told us what to expect. Did anyone vote and if so did thay get voice confirmation? I thought it was a clever ploy to reduce the queues. Eventually I made 8 calls , all show as cancelled!
2.65p must suit the traders better than 7p or more - odd because the spread is so limited - no wonder £5M+ was bet on Eurovision Betfair exchange!
