You have taken the same approach as TG, he is looking at Hydrogen in his spare time too, and could come to the same conclusion.
He has access to more information than you for sure, but he has to consider what to do if we are are generating too much solar at times of low demand, you must agree?

If the panels are installed before the Tx lines are commissioned then all that solar power is undeliverable irrespective of demand. That might be delaying a move into solar, but Hydrogen could open the door at Lesedi (not Serowe) for both fuels?

Puts our involvement in this project into perspective - terrible news indeed - and covid in Botswana is now also in perspective! It is worth respecting , which not everybody does.
Linah is the same age as Liz when she passed with the previous big C! Too young by modern day standards, and neither is going to see Tlou reach their goal. So sad.

We don't know what is going on in Oz or Bots so our personal dispositions dictate our opinions.
If MM really has the board's ear , he might be the exception , but I'm sceptical about that.

A few of us have faith in the board for good reason, more have no faith in a board that has been lead up the garden path too often. The rest go to church!

It is simply a matter of time, unless we go bust. And that is TG's strongest suit, he has kept our heads above water so far, shame that water is holding up the gas!

Do directors ever buy shares from shareholders?
In a share consolidation the company might buy to destroy but not the directors?

We need all the sellers to up their price simultaneously - somewhere north of 4.4p would be a good start!

Whizzer, they applied for and got lots of extra shares in the recent placing.

The price has dropped since but the story behind this project has not changed (except for me - poised to hear which PPA is going to be announced).
The only risk is that Tlou get so fed up with the bleating and the ridiculously low price that they give up!

Tony is not a cannibal, and if he was GG would keep him in food forever without all the others!

How much is that network worth to us?
The TG knockers have never put up a replacement for TG , but I bet there are not many who can match his history and will work for a quarter of his salary.

The placing now looks to be a pre-emptive attempt at gaining a couple of months in the tendering process for wires and poles. Another example of Tlou having faith in BG delivering sooner rather than later. And another let down!

Molale was possibly keen to give CBM a chance but was forced by his advisors to doubt whether either preferred bidder could produce enough gas to honour their RFP commitments! He demanded proof but was reassigned to another ministry after the elections.

Lefoko took over and has been more active than Eric on the CBM front without firing the starter's gun. One day we'll know where the problem lay but it will be a coqtail of covid, gas flow delays and the unknown.

Tlou have now engaged other sources - thrice shy with the BG - who have failed to live up to expectations and caused us so much grief. I'm sure Tlou thought funds for $10m would be available before now. And we'd be spending some of it, covid permitting?

My disappointment, if it comes over as that, is not backed by lack of faith in TG.
It is clear that he is in the hands of people outside TLOU as always, but where I was gee'd up into thinking I was going to learn in June whether a PPA was going to be for 2MW or 10MW , I was floored by Appi's post that 2MW was effectively done and dusted!

I hoped terms for 2MW and 10Mw ($10m and $30m) were in the safe ready to be posted once the PPA was decided! Due diligence was half expected to delay funding offers but I thought a couple of months would be enough!

Now I realise that the due diligence issue has been the only barrier for maybe a whole year.
The time scale is probably the same as before but how do Tlou decide whether they need $10m or $30m?

I like everything to be logical , and I have been patiently waiting for EITHER PPA to be issued.

2MW meant we'd then request funding for $10m.
10MW ditto for $30m.

This explains why I am out of kilter with most of you , and you are critical of the board for not raising the $10m, whilst I waited confidently for the PPA to determine the level of funding.

The 2MW is worth the paper it is written on!
I think it supports my belief that we never needed a PPA to get funding, as TG claimed all along.

Summary: I am now waiting for the interested funding partners to complete their due diligence tests and for drilling to resume! Boring times to come?

Hydrogen production within the Serowe holding yard was interesting? We'll need water and electricity so can Tlou supply either or both and when? And can we do it profitably if we are buying both water and electricity before our own electricity arrives in Serowe.

I cannot believe nobody has questioned what use a PPA for 10MW or even more is - if yawl believe 2MW had been finalised. I don't think I believe it has really. Price and dates would surely have been announced? There are still unknown imho.

I missed the fact it had been signed Appi, I thought it was awaiting signatures but the nitty gritty pricing had to be agreed first!

In the March quarter end report I found this little beauty but for the life of me I cannot understand why there was not an RNS telling us what price has been agreed for the "up to 2MW"?

If the wording was up to scratch for 2MW , what on earth is therefore holding up the 10 MW PPA?

"The proposed off-taker (purchaser) of the power generated by Tlou is BPC. The Company has signed a PPA with BPC for the first 2MW of electricity and a submission has been made to secure a PPA for up to 10MW. "

I can only think the dates are open ended on the 2MW , and the wording or perhaps the pricing is unsuitable for 10MW?

The previous quarter's report said this ....

I cannot remember anyone rejoicing in that either! Why wasn't that worth an RNS on its own????

Absolutely Winni, and it is also extemely clear that the Govt are very sensitive to criticism and did not appreciate the "tantalisingly close" message which put pressure on them to satisfy the waiting public!!

My theory that the PPA will be for 10MW rather than 2MW is looking highly likely from that interview! And from there funding agreements for $30m not $10m will be desireable.

Researched TG's age with no success other than he graduated in 1984 at Uni in Adelaide, putting his birth year somewhere in the early to middle 60's if he had a straight forward education. I reckon this project will be his last major effort, before retirement, so time is running out for us old timers to enjoy the benefits that are coming.

TG definitely listens to shareholders, and imho that was reflected in todays podcast. He has heard the objections to us spreading ourselves too thin, and those who support getting CBM done before we diversify! For me, that is reason he omitted the pipeline to to Orapa completely! It is another Botswana imponderable over which he is in limbo, so he made the case for more immediate possibilities/probabilities!

His message was excellent imho, I'm still very happy he is in charge as far as possible.

Well found Troajan - is that the interview Whizzer referred to, because his description of it was way off imho.
It was total justification of the Hydrogen talk and makes perfect sense to my humble mind!

I looked at the media section to re-read Whizzer's interview, but only found this which I was about to post (from 2017) but it makes it appear MM, myself and a few others who clearly support TG are not as daft as our critics make out.

I imagine Optiva are still supportive at the flexibility of TLOU through all the frustrations , and see it as a certain winner one day! All the groundwork seems to be in place and that cannot be under-estimated , I expect there is a big loop for competitors to get lost in if they try to catch Tlou!
