If the hoaxers (imho) on here are proved correct then nobody is going to invest £100M in empty parcels of land for us to manage!

Investing that sort of money to start earning carbon credits in 7 or 8 or 8 years time is never going to appeal to a successful company. The carbon credits will be minimal at that stage - the trees will be nowhere near maturity!

Woodbois will therefore be at square 1 with timber profits the only game in town , and they will have to self finance expansion in Gabon , and a start up in Mozambique after a decade of losses!!!! In that decade they issued 2BN shares to keep going?

By year 9 , that could be 4BN shares if people are fool enough to supply good money after bad!

That is what Greyfriars and BC expect us to believe.

What is the alternative?

The existence of forward carbon credits exactly as described in the financial news and echoed by Paul (they will fund the project) and Michael (nobody has been taking advantage of forward carbon credits until RECENTLY and it will be Woodbois).

I won't be phoning Paul or Michael , Lovely , they have made it clear what the true position is.
The only hoax here is the twaddle spouted by BC and his supporters!

With 2,007m (2BN shares) issued , 30M is only 1.5% so not sure if we can expect an RNS showing us who th buyer is. If it was a top up, as seems likely , then the extra 1.5% might well trigger an RNS?

The latest RNS reveals a 0.56% drop in the holdings for MCM Investment Partners SPC - MCM Sustainable Resource SP 4.44% to 3.88% which is where the mystery buyer presumably got a third of his shares from.

1.5% change should show if it was Paul himself, Michael , Elon Musk or Jay :O)

This was what Ronald Brown realised! We will see a lot of growth in our 1m acres that will qualify for credits 5 years after we get them certified! That harmonises with you and Greyfriars.
But what you are missing, and Ronald has not missed, is that we can profit from new plantations bought by rich partners ASAP through forward carbon credits!

I notice mention of Verra doing certifications, so I wonder if Woodbois are in fact able to issue certificates as I believed! Last weeks RNS regarding World Forest ID partnership may provide that capability but it does not read that way. They are going to verify what state our forests are in currently - that might be certification but I don't know.

In response to Jason , I think Michael is confirming we can produce carbon credits from our current 470k hectares without having to plant a single sapling.

But we know some areas have been stripped of timber, and may be suited to replanting, or as you believe, will be left to recover on their own. Reforestration in either case?

What happens to the certificates once true credits are offered still needs exploration!
Before today's Eureka moment, I thought that real carbon credits would be lost to replace those supplied from certification! And where does that leave us on our proportion?

We'd be entitled to true credits alongside the partner - would we have to forfeit enough of them to clear the certificate too? I reckon so? We could use some of the new ones from our own exclusive holdings I suppose?

I can see how Woodbois have not spelled it out perfectly - it is very complicated.

I am fairly sure Woodbois can certify a piece of land with trees on it as worthy of carbon credits or forward carbon credits.

This is what they plan to do on land costing up to to £100.

Woodbois admits it has no plans to even try to buy that land.
What they are proposing is that we find companies, of which there is many, who want to take advantage of carbon credits.

They buy the land, we manage it so it qualifies for certification as a site for future carbon credits and they apply for their forward credits armed with our certificate.

In return for our invaluable help we take a proportion of their credits for ourselves.

They are worth real money to us as well as the landowner.
For obvious reasons self certifying our own land is verbotten! Hence our land cannot earn credits until we have 5 or 6 years of improved carbon deposits. At that point true, not forward credits, become payable! And our land starts to earn money as expected!

The partnerships will drop the certificate we have benefitted from for a number of years and continue to receive real credits.

Our proportion of their credits over those 5 or 6 years and they will hopefully appreciated by the percentages quoted in the Ronald Brown article.

Whether that makes them meaningful depends how many we have left. Selling some during those years may have been necessary to fund for the project.

The number of partners and credits could be anything!
But they are earnings from the years that two poster claim is impossible! And they fit Paul’s statement about credit funding the project .

WoodBois owns over 1,000,000 acres of pure forest concessions across Africa. (470k hectares @ 2.4 acres to the hectare)

It is among the largest in the world, and yet up until recently, the company was not selling its carbon credits because it was not part of the program. Instead they were harvesting the trees, processing them and selling them.

Their business model has now changed though for the better.

They’ve begun working on selling carbon credits and their revenues could be on the verge of exploding!

Derivatives are recognised as the most complicated tools - so the sellers probably agree that there is no income from credits until some absurd future date!

Sorry Jonah, you challenged whether Woodbois would be planting new trees to earn carbon credits.
You prefer the view that they will effectively be rewilding such areas by leaving them to develop themselves. I have been unable to establish evidence for either view.

The answer will decide if BC is correct in thinking Woodbois cannot earn credits from their existing forests. I cannot believe that 170,000 hectares in Gabon does not include areas that will need us to plant new trees and therefore produce forward carbon credits. I saw somewhere that varieties of trees suit certain areas , so new varieties will need manual intervention?
