Neversell.
I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times, unfortunately...
The issue with Carnival is the structure.
Imagine, each brand as a company, you have a CEO, a CFO, a board, a finance department, a sales department etc. etc. and all are separated.
All these Brands, AIDA, Carnival Cruise Lines, Costa, Cunard, Holland America, Princess Cruises, P&O Cruises Australia, P&O Cruises UK and Seabourn.
The issue is that is Brand has a different target market dependent on where they are in the world.
AIDA is heavy Europe, German etc. Costa is heavy Italian, Holland America is heavy Nearly Dead, Carnival is Heavy Over Fed, Heavy Party, In the US is a huge pull for the African-American population, Huge drinking brand. Cunard is the "badge of honour" brand, the titantic brand, the brand that made cruises possible, P&O is "British".
Now multiple all of those brands by all of the overheads in every company, and then you will also then have cross brand overheads as well, because you need the overarching structure of the main corporation, and now you can see problem.!
P&O Oz, I'm hoping, is the first step towards a whole new Carnival Corporation world.
On Royal, you can book Celebrity, you get credit cross brand, and many of the overhead cross are cross brand.
This is another reason why Royal's SP is so so so so so much higher than CCL's.
