The reason for the spike upwards was because of the US Jobs report, which showed a lower number of jobs than expected, and a lower pay rise that previous, so Yields are down, which means stocks are higher.
This puts more pressure on the Fed to announce reductions at the next meeting
Dow, NAS, S&P are all well over 1% up.
However, CCL like all travel in theory will calm down from the excitement and bob around until the actual reduction in Interest Rates,

$14.46 UK Close / US Close (Nearly)
Queen Anne arrived in Southampton today.!
Another ship added to the ever growing fleet.
By 2026 there is 10 new ships? (I think) at approx. 4.000 avg capacity, 40,000 a week, 500,000 extra passengers a year....
UK Closed $14.28
US After Hours Close $14.54
26c, 19p
The US Closed at $14.47
It went all the way up to $14.79 and dropped back, but so did the whole of the US. The whole of the tech Nasdaq went up 300 points and dropped 300 points, so the US swung by 2%, which when you consider the NAS is something like $50 Trn that is an incredible pump and dump of $1 trn, or $1,000 BILLION swing........
Betterlife.
This isn't a CCL thing, it's a whole travel thing.
Oil has dropped a lot, BP was down over 2% today
Travel stocks will swing wildly whilst rates are high, Oil is bouncing, Inflation is high etc.
You need to do what you need to do, but being your age, ignore it.
You are in at an exceptional prices, and in 10-15-20 years time, you will look back and laugh.
If you can time the swings it's brilliant, but most of the time it doesn't work.
PATIENCE..............2025 - 2026
We closed at $14.28
It currently has SHOT UP 50c to $14.78

Last June, CCL published their results which were record beating at the time.
They dropped 15%
Over the next two days they gained 25%
Over the next month, they gained 40%
They went from £11 to £9.50 ish to £13.50 all within a month ish.
The issue is the Interest Rates are staying higher for longer, therefore, theory again, everyone will have less money for longer, which in turn means that they will cut back on spend, which means that they won't take lavish cruise vacations...
Really, as I've said 101 times, everyone feel that taking a vacation now is a "right", people will never make the same mistake as they did and "save up" if they can't afford it. They will put it on a credit card and go, and worry about it afterwards.
At some point, this will just drive upwards, the only danger is war or another covid.
Calm down Mrs Mannering

Well, per usual, I timed that well at 1060.!
So with the selling 60k shares, and then re-buying, with the sale price, then fact that the spread kills you on a bulk sale, the fees, the new fees to buy, the stamp duty to re-buy again, I am now the proud owner of.....
wait for it.....
200 extra shares........LOL
They didn't miss their forecast, they missed what the analysts predicted..... BUT.... Earning Per Share was more, so they actually made more money than what the analysts predicted, by 36.5% actually....... so the drop per usual, is unwarranted.
AND, the price for CCL and NCL are hugely discounted because apparently they aren't getting the revenue and profits, despite the fact that they are producing record breaking revenue and profits like CCL.
Norwegian Cruise Line (NCLH) Q1 CY2024 Highlights:
Revenue: $2.19 billion vs analyst estimates of $2.24 billion (2% miss)
EPS (non-GAAP): $0.16 vs analyst estimates of $0.12 (36.5% beat)
EPS (non-GAAP) Guidance for Q2 CY2024 is $0.32 at the midpoint, roughly in line with what analysts were expecting
Gross Margin (GAAP): 36.7%, up from 29.7% in the same quarter last year
Free Cash Flow of $548.3 million is up from -$388.7 million in the previous quarter
Passenger Cruise Days: 6.11 million
Market Capitalization: $8.12 billion
I got back in at 1060, so lets see.!
Betterlife.
For you, IGNORE IT FFS
You have AT LEAST 15 years before you need it.
By then, it will be £50 a share probably.
Sun.
and this is why, I have said many many times, I don't day trade.!
I am literally the worst day trader ever. LOL
Funniest thing every today.
US red, all travel red, concerns on interest rates building up, therefore CCL is going to drop like a stone.
So, at £10.74, I dumped 60,000 shares....... because then, I could buy back in when it hot £10.40 and I would have caught back up.......
and what happens......
Everything else stays red, but oh no, CCL recovers and turns green.
You really can't make this stuff up.
I'm unsure of the support levels, but £10.80 really is hanging in there.!
Bhants.
Have no idea of the drop, no logic again.
Royal results were yesterday and they were, again, record breaking, to the point that they re-increased their full year EPS as well. Royal, in the US, are 2% up...... CCL are 1% down.......
Bhants.
This is why Natwest has jumped today
https://www.lse.co.uk/rns/NWG/nwg-plc-q1-2024-interim-management-statement-b26l5zshdc7486q.html
Bhants. Re me being happy.!
I missed 30p, or basically £20k, so I need the price now to be £14 so I'm happy :-)
Bhants.
OMG
Haven't looked at Natwest for a while...... That's incredible
I sold at the end of Jan for £2.16, and it's now £3.07, that's a 45% rise in 3 months, awesome.
I have to say, I have no idea, but the rate it's gone up you would think it's got to go down a bit.!
But Monday is payment date, not Ex-Divi date, so Monday, you get another 11p, which is damn close to 50% in 3 months.
AWESOME......
