I bought in, then it dropped, so I bought more, then it dropped again, so I bought more..... and then it dropped again, but I've run out of spare money.

Hopefully it will now start going up.

Well.

Considering where the US left us at their close, our opening is a nice surprise.!

All Travel today was an ugly day, and it's continued over the pond.

All Airlines down 5%+.

Currently Carnival has dropped another 60c since our close, which as the exchange rate has got better, that is now worth a 45p drop currently.

Nope, time is definitely not standing still.!

It's hard to tell what the drops were earlier in the day across all Travel shares, and then the recovery, but unfortunately the US has dropped since our close as the Fed "talked about" if Inflation doesn't cool, they might have to raise Interest Rates........ and what happens...... the market takes that as a negative and drops.....Again, it's all the Algo/Ai's out there dropping this and everything else to make their millions for the day.

Currently we are 50c down, or 38p ish down from our close.

There are so many documentaries about the AI/Bot impacts of the stock market out there. You need to google some.

The reality is that when the AI's flood the market with hundreds / thousands of trades, and the AI's looking after the MM's receive those, it pushes the price down/up.

This is where the old "price manipulation" argument comes from.

But the big boys who play with $5m / $10m to make carnival drop by $2, then buys in with $25m and then sells at $25.5m an hour later is what happens across the Stock Market, across everything.

This is not a Carnival thing, it's not even a travel thing, and it's definitely not just a UK thing. This happens across many shares daily.

So the AI's made 80p on the way down, 63p on the way up, 40p on the way down and 32p on the way up........ So the AI's today made £2.15 per share on Carnival with the price "manipulation". The volume as I type is 1.24m. Lets say that the 0.24m is Individual trades of the likes of you and me.... That means 1m shares...... x £2.15 = £2.15m made with that manipulation.

It's very very easy money is you can time the manipulation well enough and even get 50% right. You could still have made £1 out of Carnival today... or 5%

and that is why they say that the stock market is for the LONG TERM......!!!!! because you shouldn't look everyday, you are supposed to look a maximum of quarterly, but ideally yearly.

I look every day only because I'm bored LOL..... as I'm not on a ship.!

Well.

I tried every positive statement I could and it still dropped like a stone off a tall building.

80p drop in less than 15 minutes.

US is having a correction.

Hopefully just the AI's playing games with the Carnival price, as fundamentals are exactly the same.

RNS Clarification............

The Schroders plc Board has proposed a final dividend for the year ending 31 December 2025 of 15.0 pence per share. Subject to shareholder approval at the 2026 Annual General Meeting, the 2025 final dividend will be paid on 23 April 2026 to shareholders on the register at 13 March 2026.

So I have just re-googled the Ex-Dividend date, and everything on Google, every site says the Ex Dividend date is 13th Feb.

The Ex-Dividend FTSE 100 Site also says that the Ex-Dividend date is 13th Feb.

BUT...

As CWWX has pointed out, the RNS Announcement clearly says that the Record Date is the 13th Feb, which generally means that the Ex-Dividend date is today (12th Feb).

So then I googles what Record date means in US Stock Market terms, and I got this response.........

As of 2024, US markets operate on a T+1 (trade plus one business day) settlement cycle, meaning the ex-dividend date is usually the same day as the record date. ............

So maybe because we can buy in "prior" to the start of the 12th Feb starting point in the US, i.e. before 14.30pm, any new shares bought before 14.30 counts as the 11th Feb.?!?!?

It's very interesting how depending on how you look at different sites you get different answers.!

Either way........ It's still got to be £25 today....... as it's MY BIRTHDAY............

The Q5 is very very nice, but..... it will be more difficult to drive, it is a bit over the top, unless you truly need four seats it is big and honestly it's an unnecessary extra 10k+

I would recommend a Black Edition, they look smart. I had a choice of three and the black edition blew the others out the water with looks.

But with your RR shares, or Carnival Shares, you can afford it.!
