The US Held it's position, we started off very well, but faded as the US main indexes dropped.

We held on at $15.07 close = £11.41.5 for us.

Per Bhants, and now my Accounts as well, we closed at £11.145

The US Closed at $15.10 / 1.32 = £11.44

So that is 29.5p rise........Since our close.

BUT.

As the US is open on Monday and we are closed, anything can happen LOL

My Account has closed at £11.105

So now it's $14.815 vs £11.105 which is $1.334 / £1

Now I'm stumped.

Oh well, hopefully it will all sort itself out by the time we get to £20

ps. Before the "recession fears" we were at $1.27

So $14.815 would have been £11.66.....

So now, when the US drops the Interest rates, in theory the dollar gets weaker, but with how everything is working currently, who knows what's going to happen.

Either way, we are a long way from £13.75 before the "recession" news

Something very weird, and no, I don't know the answer yet.

I looked yesterday at 4.30pm UK Time, and CUK was definitely at $14.165, which was £10.815, our close.

That is an exchange rate of 1.30975, which is correct.

Right now, CUK is at $14.37 and we are at £10.865, which 1.322, when the actual exchange rate has got worse for us, as it's now 1.316..... so we are missing out on 5p ish...........

BUT. Whilst the exchange rate goes against us, we have now lost 4.5p's worth in exchange, which is approx. 45p in SP.

Yep, it COULD be a 10X bagger in 20 years time, absolutely, and I'm sure that everyone will remember that "Fool" has said that. I also sure that in twenty year we will all get on this board just to point out whether they were right or wrong.!

They did, and they are, however the concern is also they have reacted too late, so the USD has lost ground, which makes that weaker and the GBP stronger.

With the BOE lowering the Interest rates first it should have made the pound weaker, but with the Fed's delay and the fact that the other stats are getting tighter the scaremongers are saying US recession is around the corner, hence the dollar dropping.

A 0.25% drop is now fully priced into the US markets now, if the Fed doesn't drop it by at least 0.25% all hell will break lose in the markets.

One hidden issue is that now the GBP/USD exchange rate is $1.31/£1.

That's a 40p drop for us from a few weeks ago at $1.27/£1

Because of the concern re US recession the Dollar has dropped, which with the BOE dropping rates first, we should have got to $1.23/$1.24 to the £1.

So hopefully all things will align shortly.........

No Smoking in the casino if the ship leaves from Southampton.!

That's why whenever I did the Transatlantic I always flew to the US and cruised back so I could smoke.

If you cruise from the UK, there is no smoking for the whole of the voyage, so a 14 cruise around the med from Southampton, there is no smoking at all in the casino for the whole cruise.

If you are doing a TA from Southampton, there is no smoking at all on the crossing until you get into the US, it's docked and all passengers for that cruise are off. Then the new cruise is smoking as it's leaving / embarking from a US port.!

So now, you have no excuse but to book the 31st May cruise with me and OJ.!

Yes there were kids.!, The ship had 7,200 people on it, if memory serves, and out of that there were 2,000 ish kids.

Again, not that you noticed so much as they are more on the rides/slides etc, but yes, definitely kids.

The ship did an excellent job is separating the amount of people out, but on the deck, on the sea days, I did take a walk, and it was very busy up on deck. Luckily I can go into the private suite areas, which wasn't busy at all.!
