I agree with some of what you have to say wizard. But imagine for a sec you were prime minister and a new variant comes.

You ask a group of scientists what's the liklihood if we don't impose restrictions what the impact will be onthe UK.
They give you worst case if we do nothing and a best case if we do x,y and z.

Do you want to be the prime minister that does nothing , worst case happens and you have to answer questions such as why did my relative die when you were advised with this data this would happen if x y and z wasn't followed.

With that would you also want to be the scientist that advices everything will be OK and worst happens.again not nice questions your way, and the government would be happy to chuck these scientists under the bus by saying we were advised only to do this, government and scientists will always prepare for the worst and hope for the best mainly to cover ones backside.

I agree with what you say regarding the other treatments , again these questions are the ones that need answering , whys it OK to save one live from covid but lose another one from a preventable cancer that wasn't recieved treatment due to appointment cancellations, Its all valid.

I guess the biggest threat to the the nation in the government's eyes is this new variant and that is what they are acting on.

As I said don't think there is one right answer.

Sure boris has some potentially catastrophic answers to give, having Xmas parties in a time of lockdown is inexcusable , how his apartment was paid for again more questions which seem can't be defended. There are others questions that seem again to have no excuse.

But taking this new variant alone and nothing else regardless of the own goals the government have made are we thinking we should just leave restrictions and just see how this new variant plays out?.

Remember the government's job isn't to look after cineworlds s.p , its to protect the nations security and health. Surley these current restrictions are proportionate knowing what we do about covid over the last 18 months and taking into account this is a new strain with multiple changes that can evade the vaccine easier and is more transmissible.

Sure there's talk of it being more mild but when that's confirmed and the NHS like the other times hasn't been overwhelmed then I'm confident restrictions will be lifted.

Imagine the backlash if it's worse then feared and the government done absolutly nothing.

Personally I think the cases will be worse then some are suggesting on here , I'm not entirely sure how s.africa report there cases etc . I do get a lot of comfort that the general feeling around the world is that this is a much milder variant.

Unfortunately the market doesn't come here and ask our feelings on the s.p , if it did the s.p would be above £1. For that reason I do expect a turbulent couple of weeks, I can't see it dropping to levels some are suggesting but personally believe if people have cash to spend on shares they may wait to see what the market does first, I would!!!

If someone said that to me last night todays drop would be 3% I think I would of took it all day long.

We have dropped more on far far less significant news.
More and more news are saying this variamt will spread rapidly but more and more articles suggesting it will be mild.

With luck the focus in the media will change from covid restrictions and political standpoints and back to cinema and the likes of spiderman as far as cineworld are concerned.

Personally I try and stay away from any long term price forcasts , simply because anything can happen.

With kodal it's pretty simple, firstly you need to accept its a long term hold , I think vast majority accept this , 2nd do you think it will be worth more in 2 years time then it is today , I think thats also a pretty safe bet.

S.p forcasts can change very quickly for good and bad, kodal still has a long way to go, for example i remember when the licence was to be approved this would rocket, fact is it dropped quite a lot considering since this happened . On the flip side look at the s.p this time last year , it's made significant progress as a company and value.

That's what your invested in and with luck you will get your targets, but my only advice one step at a time especially in the mining sector

Yes sav doesn't have gold but one gigantic problem you never put into consideration is, sav have nearly 1.7b shares.

For what its worth I worked out before covid try and eat the right things and am a 40 year old double jabbed lad. Booster booked purely as I believe many many scientists around the world have deemed it safe who proberbly know a lot more then me and you.

It's all opinions and personal choice at the end of the day. For instance I believe people should have it , I don't have the right to demand it

I'm also pretty sure some that survived now maybe wouldn't off early days, without looking at the stats that if you caught covid before vaccines and better knowledge and treatment compared to nowadays what survival rates are.

My colleague from work who had it bad was told if he was in hospital last year before the vaccines he wouldn't of made it. Maybe he wasn't on the natural selection list
