Problem is with apps such as trading 212 they also lend your shares out.

People who trade with them can see how many of their shares they own have been lent out with cineworld , seen this discussion on a few b.b boards.
Last time I heard the percentage on some posters was over 95% of their shares lent out.

However they will have to honor the sells , so keep money back to over.

Well I presume you sold around the 33p mark after initial drop on the day of the judgement.

With talk of lockdowns you just might be able to work out a good entry point next day or 2 , get In under your sell price then your weirdly better off then before.

Lastly my opinion on any potential lockdown , ant drop will be market sentiment and not cine specific , come out of lockdown as it won't be forever market then reacts and goes back up.

What will be the danger is at what cost to the buissness we have depending on how long and what restrictions are , however remember we are getting a real nice cash injection from spiderman. Perfect timing really.

Regarding shorts you can see how many we had top of this page , click blue button which h says more cine information.

Click on short data and change chart to a year , you will see late Jan we had over 10% shorted , reduced significantly in Feb, which I expect helped the rally.

Now we sit a little less then a year ago , don't k ow without oozing bit think it's around 8.5%.

With the price as it is , maybe a lockdown could make a little more, but most shorts would of made a nice amount of cash , I would hope they start closing them and moving on, some have started to fo that apart from our Canadian short in k2 .

As a lth your losses only go so far you can only lose your investment , shorting is unlimited and can be very very costly especially if there is a nice short squeeze.

Newbie in my opinion the sharp increase was a cluster of reasons,

Nov 2020 we were closed , future of cineworld massively uncertain , however liquidity quickly secured, world of covid was getting more serious , no vaccines available , no news on when we reopen , it really was a dire time.

Approx Jan the Kent variant hit us and hard , however vaccines approved and gave hope and jabs in arms started , roadmap declared, even though we were not stage 1 or 2 we had hope of reopen and I genuinly feel this gave real hope to a broken stock market.

So in the space of a few months we went from nothing to hope of normal life again , this was maybe reflected in the s.p, maybe we went up to quick who knows.

For me personally this is key for refusing to sell, since we reopened we have continued to show progress.im gonna repeat myself again so sorry if I sound like a broken record.

We firstly had staged reopen, firstly with social distance and then we went fully operational.
Month on month audience has returned in bigger numbers.
Cash burn prob now significantly reduced from the days we were shut.

We have overcome huge obstacles and come so far, So for me the judgement is a set back , a huge one granted but not a setback that can't be fixed. We can appeal for a start.

Another lockdown if it happens will he another setback depending on restrictions but I see it more of a circuit break rather then a full on lockdown, I personally don't think the public will accept another full lockdown.and maybe the final nail for borris , he won't want that.

I also don't think the creditors will allow cineworld to just go bankrupt , if they did they get no money , it makes sence to continue helping them in extreme times.

Remember this is a recovery stock, so we invested in the recovery, if this was the situation with no pandemic I'm sure most wouldn't acctually be here.

So I choose to wait it out, for what we have already overcome I think cine deserves a bit more of my time , I'm also to hot headed to sell at a loss.

My opinion only , others will have different ideas.

We try again then lpd, hopefully things remain positive between us for the sake of the board.

Personally I'm the complete opposite, I don't see any potential lockdown being long term , vaccines can be tweaked within 100 days and I genuinly feel cineworld have a good chance to not necessarily win the appeal but certainly significantly reduce the judgement, any reduce in payment will see s.p rice nicely north.

I see cineworld being here 2 years from now , and I personally refuse to see on such a loss. This is a volitile share , and rises can be just as quick as falls.

For me it's a waiting game , I'll wait beyond any potential lockdown, beyond financials and se where we are set time where the world can be a totally different place to what we are now. You only have to look at the s.p from Nov 2020 to now to see how much things can change.

To be honest up until today's news another lockdown didn't even enter my mind, especially before Xmas.

However the media are going to town on the rising cases and its everywhere.
Turn on skysports and majority of football has been cancelled due to new variant.
Turn on the t.v every news bulletin is about rising cases.

You just can't get away from it , mayor of London said that covid is causing a rate where its effecting emergency services and that hospital admissions have gone up 28% since last week. Can't remember the figures 28% doesn't mean loads of patients might be 100 one week 128 following week , but 28% will be the figure used to scare.

Rising hospital figures in London and a drop in emergency service workers spells government action for me.

This isn't a deramp post by the way , the figures across the UK are still pretty stable , its rising cases at the moment not much more , if we saw rising hospital admissions I would personally acctually support lockdown action , but we are not , and we get the benefit of seeing s.africa data also.

Will be a inteesting week that's for sure at a time a hie movie is out and with luck if any action is taken it will be very minimal

Hate to say it and certainly doesn't mean I agree with it but I can see some kind of (mini) lockdown happining, under what restrictions I'm not so sure. Hospitals don't appear to be having sharp rises in admissions and if we follow s.africa and their data I doubt we will either but.......

When you get the mayor of London announcing major incidents in cases , and breaking news regarding sage meetings I just get the feeling it's the governments way of breaking it too us. I'm not convinced they have the balls to do it before Xmas, if they do I just hope they announce say working from home.

Don't agree a lockdown is currently necessary, but can't see this government acting the same way if the media continues to be so dominant regarding the new variant and the POTENTIAL impact it may have.

I swear sometimes the media run this country.

Currently we are 100% operational , we have no social distancing in cinemas and we have a very big film out at the moment bringing much needed revenue.

Lockdown will happen if major numbers start entering Hospitals and overwhelming the already overwhelmed NHS. I agree with comments that it's always got a issue of some sort.

With boosters offering high percentage of servere illness protection , a new vaccine can be produced in 100 days any type of lockdown will be short lived.

S.p is a major negative right now , as is the current judgement. This can be appealed and the s.p can change.

Everything else is currently buissness as usual and running no different to how we were before the judgement announcement.
