Lining Up the Ducks4 Jul 2025 10:27
This is another great step forward. No more questions on how we will source Ammonia, handle logistics and obtain customers for hydrogen pretty much from the off. AFC are embedding themselves as a key component in the hydrogen economy - most importantly at a cost competitive price to alternative technologies and due to the portability of the units, with a lot less hassle. The fact that AFC can compete on regular 'grey' hydrogen immediately is compelling, by the time the green hydrogen comes on board this company will be in a very different place in terms of valuation.
Since the production of hydrogen itself does not rely on government subsidies, the government should find a way to support AFC's scale up. No doubt with the relationships we have that have reduced the cost of manufacturing the cost of the fuel cell, the cracker will also be able to hit the production lines sooner. Having units in the field working in 2026 will be great evidence for a major industrial company (perhaps an S&P 500 company) to look at AFC and say 'i'll buy that' . Obviously, 'delivery' is still the name of the game between now and then, but if you have a proven technology in this space, surely you'd sell it for £1-£2bn?
