I was very close to selling my shares when it dropped -3% this morning, I'm glad I didn't and stood by Darktrace.

It appears that the share dumping has stopped or paused. Even small volume of 25k buy pushed the price up by 1%. This is when PI could move the SP. New comrades, welcome to the club.

ToffAppleton1, while I believe someone might be shorting but I doubt the £3 target you mentioned today. Either you're making it up, or you are one of them.

is weaker in my area than forecast. Maybe things will turn out better than we hoped today.

I thought I was lucky to avoid the big fall from the peak but .... I don't even want to calculate my loss now.

Definitely someone is dumping shares in small volume constantly. Surprise to see this low volume could bring down SP so quickly. The early investors and directors who sold at higher price have moral obligation to buy back some shares now. It is also for their benefits as they still own large chunk of shares.

I'm with you, someone is manipulating the stock price. The only chance we have now is excellent result on 3rd March PLUS no insider offloading.

ToffAppleton1, good insight, wonder how did you get this information, is that confirmed? Darktrace has had so many good news after IPO and recently, even if the SP does not rise, then it should be flat at worst and not fell 17% in 3 days. Think the best thing to not fall into their trap is to hold. They only make money if they manage to get others to sell.

I wish I had money to buy more but glad that others did to push the price up again.

sheltie, technical is useful for people who looking for entry, or exit, but I'm neither at the moment. I'm more interested in the reasons, mechanism or even psychology behind the rise and fall.

I'm more of a startup mindset people, I don't care about making profit now, and I believe the business has good prospect. However, the market really puzzle me and I'd like to know why is this behaving in this way. Why would people loan their shares to shorter to deflate their own worth. If any one have good books to recommend, I'd like to hear it.

Th SP has fallen far too much compared to other stocks, so it can't be just about the war. I'm thinking maybe employees panic selling, or there are still shorting.

This is an irrational market. Period. I think now it is more likely for Darktrace to get acquired than going back to 600p.

In theory, Darktrace should be least affected by war. They sell software and there is no logistic to be disrupted.

Thing is looking a lot better than even just a week ago. I don't do technical analysis but I do monitor similar UK tech stocks on daily basis. In the last 2 to 3 days, Darktrace has been outperforming wider market and its SP has been less volatile. Nasdaq fell quite a bit last night and normally Darktrace would fall even more than that but it holding above 400p today.

Tide is turning, I think the main reason is that people is start looking past ML cases. Followed by the article of its excellent patent output which ridicule Peel Hunt's criticism. Of course that is also helped by Russian hacking. Given the small number of $1M in the RNS, I guess it is perhaps a trial. If the client is happy with to extend and even expand to its whole conglomerate, then where will be plenty of $M to come.

I had been in panic mode in the last 1-2 months, always thinking when should I press the panic button to sell. I'm not really worried now, and I now spend less time looking at SP and more time doing my day job :)

Anyway, the reason I posted the Forbes article is not about valuation but reputation. If Darktrace is compared with the industry's best, that suggest it is also among the bests. This is especially valuable coming from a US publication.

If Darktrace is to be bought, the valuation will be based not multiples but its current market capitalisation. Usually the offer is no more than 50% mark up. If the board rejects the offer, then it is up to the buyer to up the offer, or drop the deal, it is entirely based on how much the buyer willing to pay. At this stage, even a 50% increase is too cheap, I would much prefer the acquisition to happen much later when Darktrace's growth (and SP) slow down.
