Absolutely Pete, HE1 is an early stage microcap AIM share. I have every confidence it will move beyond that stage in the near to medium term, but for now it isn’t ’institutional’ investment material. That’s why it’s dominated by predatory speculators and sentiment traders, and why it’s listed on AIM at the mercy of hedge funds and dodgy brokers. That will change.

Toffers, this is really basic stuff. They are not institutional investors. Their customers buy shares in personal ISAs and SIPPs, then the company buys the actual shares in the market and holds them in proxy. L&G are not invested in HE1, their retail customers are.

Sorry, but you have misunderstood what you’re reading in Morning Star. We’ve been over this before. The names you quote are not ‘institutional’ investors. They hold proxy savings and investment accounts for thousands of retail clients.

Slacker - how do you know there are no institutional investors? HE1 isn’t obliged to publish TR1 block voting rights on AIM. I agree it’s not likely for an early stage exploration company (so it would be surprising if there were) but you can’t evidence it either way. I’m not sure why you’d expect it, but I presume it’s just an opinion.

PS. We do know Cantor Fitzgerald O&G have been a long term investor, for example, but I’m not going to read too much into that due to the Sarah Cope connection. And there was an angel investor with another 200m shares. But like most AIM shares, hedge funds will always play a greater capital role early stage. Investment capital enters when speculative capital leaves.

I doubt they bought them for anyone. More likely they financed to capitalise on the short term event at discounted risk as usually happens in AIM placements. They run a systematic long-short hedge fund and probably played both sides of the game.

No, I’ve been invested here since early 2021 as everyone probably knows. Like everyone else I’ve adjusted my stake at different stages but not recently. Quite happy holding for now.

She said approximately three months (not up to three months), so I am simply taking her at her word in the absence of contrary evidence. If anyone has some evidence then great, please share it. All I’m seeing is wishful thinking. I have every confidence they will get the licence. I don’t see why it would be fast tracked.
