The whole point about this unique geological discovery is that it's based on a hydrothermal carrier system (water) from the fractured basement. We've known this for months, so that isn't a surprise or cause for concern. The question raised by the second EWT result was more about the helium concentration/dilution, the amount of water, and therefore the commercial tipping point for processing it (apparently shifting the previously published concept design for development up from half a dozen wells up to 20-30 wells, with artificial lift). That's significant, so water is an 'issue' in the design but it's one that can be solved with additional engineering and larger scale partner finance. It doesn't make the project uncommercial, it just makes it more challenging for a small company like HE1 to commercialise it successfully. But I'm still confident they can give that a good shot or sell it on to someone who can. Onwards and upwards.

Cat's posting tactics are fairly common on AIM BBs, try to persuade new or undecided readers to block every contributor who raises any kind of question for discussion and turn the board into an echo chamber.

Each to their own. As a long term investor here since the beginning I'm quite happy holding at the current price and I'm fairly confident in the company's long term development. I'm just not interested in rockets or misleading new investors about the challenges involved in achieving that.

You can't just pump that water out into the landscape. You need a water utilisation plan and that will need to be negotiated to integrate with the district councils and the strategy of Lake Rukwa Water Basin board, which operates under a different government ministry to the one dealing with the mining licences. Lake Rukwa (and Great Ruaha) support one of the largest fisheries, nearby game reserves and conservation areas, like Katavi. Clean helium production should be a better fit for all of this than many other kinds of mining, but it's misleading to pretend the application will just be 'rubber stamped'. It won't, it'll go through the proper scrutiny as it should.

Like I said, they've done really well. They have loads of experience of gas commercialisation in Tanzania (that is actually the primary skill set of most of the board). I'm entirely confident they know what they're doing but all the ramping about special treatment and exceptionality just isn't accurate. They're a small foreign startup company trying to gain a foothold in a very challenging market in a very challenging part of the world. I think they've a very decent chance of pulling it off but it's going to be a long road.

HE1 have done really well to build local engagement and national relationships with the ministry. The six months prep for the ESIA is just a requirement of the application process. They've done everything correctly but in the minimum time due to the pressing deadline for licence renewal. That's all fine but don't assume they're ahead of the game. The EWT was extremely tight to the deadline, it will have been touch and go to get everything modelled in such a unique play.

There's a lot more to it than that. There's all the local and internal politics to consider also, the environmental and social impact has to be pre-approved before the commercial case (ever thought what would need to be considered in the UK if you applied to drill 30 gas wells, build a processing plant and pump out 20,000 barrels a day of industrial waste water in somewhere like the Lake District?). Then there's all the horse trading about what pound of flesh the ministry want from the deal. Three months is no time at all.

The problem is your timing. You come on every day shouting for a placing, since almost the day after the last placing. Crying wolf just wears thin after a while. It's meaningless unless you can back it up with some reasoned argument. They have stated rationale for a raise in this phase of development, which is why the price is now rising after absorbing the last one. All the operations for the next 6-9 months are funded now, drilling and working capital. Obviously they could go for another investment or something but it's not that likely this year, so three months of pretty clear runway, loads of positive news coming up, etc.

Ramping probably causes more sentiment led retail losses on AIM than de-ramping, people get drawn into pump and dump frenzies, buy too high and get rug pulled. As always, DYOR

Why would they run an ESP at Itumbula without a helium purification plant? Deepening Tai sounds more likely, if they now have the 3.5” kit, and sufficient funds to do it (I don’t they can divert money from the acquisition raise but there was unused contingency from the EWT). They did advertise for a full time rig manager and it was crewed. But without a current prospecting licence I’m not even sure they can do that, unless there’s some kind of continuation grace period during the application process.

That is indeed the scale of deal that would be needed to bring Rukwa into commercial production, if the numbers stack up.

The market hasn’t reacted yet for two reasons (probably). First, the second EWT results weren’t quite as expected and indicate the need for a larger scale project to make it economic. Second, the raise came as a surprise, for a new venture not previously considered by the market. Both probably make good business sense but they need careful evaluation, for which not all the relevant data is publicly available. The market likes certainty and dislikes uncertainty. Now that it’s settled in and the placement has been worked through it will probably be fine. If we’re to believe the company now has two commercial projects coming up rather than one then the shares also start to look good value. Who knows if there’s another surprise in store?

Why do you think it will be 3-4 weeks when the CEO thinks it will be around 3 months? Do you have some inside information?

The idea is to buy when it goes down and sell when it goes up, not the other way around 😉
