The Canadian 320 kb/d cutback is pretty meaningless.
Alberta, Canada has so much oil that it doesn't know what to do with it.
It can't transport any more out because of pipeline capacity restrictions, so a lot has just been going into storage.
But now they're running out of storage and so have little option other than to cut back production.
Thus the cutback will have absolutely no effect on world markets until all the storage is cleared … which could be a long time.

Thanks SpruceGoose2 … he probably meant to say 40 feet not 40 meters, which even so are still huge waves for the AM to cope with.

While reading the article about WOS, I was looking out the window at the house across the road.
It's about 10 meters high. Just can't imagine waves 40 meters high … 4 x as high as the house.
Can anyone confirm that waves really do go that high WOS?

As Rangers1 pointed out, ETA 24 Dec/18 ETD is 12 Dec/18 which is almost 3 weeks!

Hope this doesn't mean that Sea Lion Foil will be after Zama first oil.

"Talos estimates recoverable resources at 400-800 MMboe with a probable peak production of around 150 MMboe. Appraisal drilling should start soon with two additional wells and first oil is anticipated by 2022.

I never guessed that a) It's that cold or b) It's so safe to use.
It's obviously a hell of a lot better for the environment that having loads of oil tankers moving around the world.

Just as a matter of interest, does anyone know what LNG looks like … is it thin like petrol, thick like oil or is it somewhere in between?

Managed to find where moonpool (turret) plate was fitted but still not able to find out where it will be removed.

What makes you think that they will remove the turret plate in Rotterdam … I think they will wait until they arrive at Lancaster

I seem to remember reading somewhere that the AM has 6 different storage tanks so my guess is that, while the last tank is being filled, the contents of the other 5 could be transferred to a tanker.

I wonder how this will effect PMO?
They could end up with a smaller share … but of a much bigger oil field.

Oil & Energy Insider are reporting the following.

Talos Energy is leading a consortium looking to partner with Pemex on the development of the Zama offshore project, where Talos struck oil in 2017. The estimated reserves of the discovery are 2 billion barrels of crude, of which 800 million barrels recoverable reserves. However, the reservoir may extend into a neighboring block whose development rights belong to Pemex, which plans to start drilling there in 2019.

On December 21 @ Lerwick daylight is only 5hrs 49mins 16secs .. so could be a problem trying to hook-up in December.
