Thanks for the link, it confirms what I was just about to post.
1) Everyone seems to think that the AM has gone back to port in order for the new rope to be fitted.
But surely the new rope has to be fitted to the Buoy not the AM.
2) The reason for a rope and not wire cable could be that it has to be able to float (although there will be a small float attached to the one end probably) making it easier to recover ready for the pull-in.
At the start of the pull-in a thin rope is lowered down through the moon pool bay and, when it floats to the surface outside the AM, it is then attached to the thicker rope on the buoy..
