She left Norway last evening at about 9 p.m. and was supposed to arrive on the south shore of lake Ontario in the US at 10 a.m. this morning. That would mean she would be doing about 300 m.p.h. so I think there's been a mix-up somewhere.

It would be great if BW and PMO can duplicate Catcher, especially as it came in under budget and on time.
But what is going to happen with all the natural gas?
With Catcher I assume that they were able to tie into one of the gas lines that already existed in the North Sea but there is no such pipeline off the Falklands.

Any idea what that means?

I find those RNS thingies sometimes hard to understand but it would seem to me that GS were selling not buying and that they had to report it because it crossed the 6% line.

I find it strange that you still don't seem convinced that the new rope will not be attached to the AM but to the buoy itself to replace the damaged one,( probably done by the Olympic Zeus as fitguy5 mentioned)

Last time I checked, the Olympic Zeus was still in Norway.

How could they pump some of the ballast out of the buoy .. there's no on-board power supply.
And there's no way they could attach an external pump while it's bobbing up and down in the moon pool.

Dr. Trice must have been quite annoyed when he heard about the rope problems.
He doesn't seem like the kind of guy to swear but one never knows.

In an earlier post @ 14.01 I suggested that, when the new rope arrives, it would be sent to be fitted to the buoy and not to the AM itself.
Not 1 single person agreed with me but we will see eventually.
As an ex-girlfriend used to say (after making an audacious comment)
"I could be wrong … but I doubt it".

How was having a spare rope on board the AM going to help.
Were they supposed to strip down to their jockey shorts and dive down and swap the old rope for the new one?
It is going to take another vessel with the right equipment to do the job .. hopefully pretty soon.

Thanks for the link, it confirms what I was just about to post.
1) Everyone seems to think that the AM has gone back to port in order for the new rope to be fitted.
But surely the new rope has to be fitted to the Buoy not the AM.
2) The reason for a rope and not wire cable could be that it has to be able to float (although there will be a small float attached to the one end probably) making it easier to recover ready for the pull-in.
At the start of the pull-in a thin rope is lowered down through the moon pool bay and, when it floats to the surface outside the AM, it is then attached to the thicker rope on the buoy..

Maybe, if they intend to take a trip out to Lancaster every 2 or 3 days, they could sell tickets.
I'm sure several people on this BB would love to go for a trip out there (not me … I get sea sick).

Instead of MarineTraffic saying ' limited maneuverability ' or ' anchored ' etc. it would be nice if Hurricane could have persuaded them to say ' Hooked-Up and ready to go! ', when the time comes..
It would have saved a lot of nail biting and sleepless nights for the ship watchers (including me).

One of the reasons for a build up in US crude oil is the pilfering from the gasoline pipe lines in Mexico.
One of the lines caught fire, blew up and killed lots of people and so the Mexican Govt. have closed down the pipe lines.
This means that tankers are sitting there in the Gulf of Mexico waiting to unload which probably means that the US refineries are cutting back on producing gasoline.
Thus a cut-back in oil demand and a build up of crude in storage.
That's my theory anyway (based on a lot of facts)!

Wireless transmissions can be very fickle.
I find it really frustrating that it's possible to send and receive signals to space probes millions of miles away whereas I have trouble getting a decent signal from the outdoor thermometer on my garden shed … less than 30 feet away!
