Just a reminder for anyone who made the same mistake as I did when converting RKH warrants with HL,
A few weeks ago I thought that I had put in a request with HL to convert my warrants and I was wandering why it was taking so long.
Today I went through the process again to make sure and realised that I hadn't clicked the 'Confirm' button the first time.
Today I received immediate confirmation as follows:-
"Thank you for providing an instruction for Rockhopper Exploration plc Unlisted Warrants (31/12/23) on our website.
You can review your instructions at any time; simply log in, choose the relevant account, click on the 'Transaction history' tab and select 'Corporate actions' ".
I noted that HL has a deadline of Wednesday 27 Dec/23 for doing this.
Can someone explain how Sea Lion can help secure the UK energy supply ?
Surely the Oil, once it is extracted, belongs to Navitas and Rockhopper and they can sell it to whom ever they like.
Maybe, if the UK Govt. helped with funding, they could do so on the condition that they were given first choice on purchase of the oil at market price.
But UK Govt. is not in the business of trading oil ... maybe we should re-nationalise BP ?

You say "however the Whitehall civil service 'Green Blob', and green zealots MP's of all parties would rather we imported energy security from half way around the world, increasing the carbon foot print".
I'd like to point out that the Falklands are more than twice as far from the UK by ship than any of the middle -eastern countries supplying oil.

Agreed, a great interview. The thing that struck me most was that they are going to need a hell of lot more money to develop Beetaloo than Empire, Tamboran and Falcon are likely to raise. They need one of the big boys to buy a share.
As wind turbine power is starting to get into trouble, there won't be enough electricity to power all the projected number of EVs and Oil and Gas will be needed for a lot longer than expected.

One thing that intrigued me, in this article, was the reference to Tax.
"I have no doubt that in the event of a major oil find, tax revenues should accrue to the UK Exchequer. That seems to me only equitable given the very substantial financial as well as other sacrifices that the UK has made … to secure the freedom of the Falkland Islands (Lamont, Citation1991)."
Does anyone know if this is still true or will tax be decided by the FIG.
If Labour get in, they will try to continue the 'windfall tax'.
Interesting article about Oil development in Falklands.
