RE: RNS - Barclays - at 5% holding14 Jan 2025 15:22
Ok, I think I've established that Barclays have aquired circa 5% of the business through 3 different routes, a Portfolio Swap ... A portfolio swap is an agreement between two parties where one party pays the principal and coupon payments for a portfolio of bonds. In exchange, the party receives payments that correspond to their liabilities. a CFD ...a CFD is a contract that essentially mimics a financial market, in a swap two parties agree to exchange the cash flows from an asset (typically an equity) for a set period of time AND..... an Equity Swap.... Equity swaps expire at an agreed date and can't be extended or renewed, which limits their potential outcome. If you trade CFDs with shares involved, there's a fair chance that you can obtain dividends.
This can only be read positively, and would appear that somebody is thinking a longer term dividend is on the cards.... QUite different from the dinlow that thought bankruptcy was possible ! - Warm and fuzzy feeling ...
