RE: There you go another big sell placed in the auction14 May 2021 00:03
Allow me my little rant. if my company was worth so substantially less almost 5 years from listing, I dread to think how I would feel. shambles. I do know that I would be doing all that I could to fix it - but are these guys? I want more numbers...
That trading update was LAST YEAR's numbers and there is no update on the here and now. Are they doing all that they can? Because it's the success of the here and now that will determine it all. Last RNS:
"- New customer wins: 3 with minimum Total Contract Value (“TCV”) of £620,000, plus
notification of a further RFP win although not yet formally contracted
? Proofs of Concept: 6 now live with customers (in addition to the above wins)"
And over 6 weeks later, not a squeak - so there's definitely 600k added to the bottom line, but nowt else confirmed.. christ.
The importance of the following has really been missed: "New Customer CAC Ratio (the fully-loaded cost to acquire £1 of new ARR): improvement to £0.84 (FY2019: £1.38; 2020 SaaS benchmark2 of £1.63)."
^ That's actually really, really impressive and I posted on the importance of that ratio for this business recently. However, THERE IS NO POINT SHOUTING ABOUT YOUR CAC IF YOU DON'T ACQUIRE SIGNIFICANT NEW BUSINESS! And these guys know it - it's why they're quiet.
[btw the reason it is so fundamental is because, whilst it doesn't look spectacular, it's gonna recur for years - substantial contract wins at that CAC ratio = ££££££££££££££££££]
