Today's little drop25 Mar 2021 13:17
If anyone is wondering what this little drop is about - the restrictions on statutory demands and winding up petitions, and the suspension of personal liability for wrongful trading, have been extended to 20 June. This matches the restrictions on forfeiture for landlords. In essence - unsurprisingly - the CIGA "winding-up moratorium" has been brought in line with the forfeiture relief provisions.
Debts of all type continue to mount, making 30 June an ever-steeper cliff edge. Inevitably, these restrictions must come to an end and will not last indefinitely.
If anything, what we now have is much greater degree of clarity. Insolvency practitioners' telephone lines will be taking an increasing number of inbound calls over the coming months as companies look for strategies to avoid disaster.
