Luna Nera,
I had a look on simplywallst.com they put a fair value on Burford SP as being £24.47. Not that far away from your calculation of £25.76.
I suspect it will take a good few sets of strong results for it to get to this, have to see a continuous trend
Stop squabbling my friends. Too many moaning !!!!,
If you don’t like Burford there are other companies to invest in.
On 18th March this year the SP was £2.80.
It now stands at £7.25 almost 7 months since.
What a remarkable turnaround in such difficult trading conditions.
Take a look at the chart over that period, a steady rise, yes there have been dips like there is with all other companies.
The trend is remarkable, there is little to moan about and as with most shares, the investment over the long term should be rewarding if Burford maintain and build on their returns.
We have COVID, Brexit, US election to get out of the way. Once we have a clear run, Lets get in to the new year , get January, February , spring out of the way.
One has to be a little more patient.
I was hoping for brokers to update around the time of suspension.
Jeffries have been the first in here raising to £1150 from £900
Would be good to see the other brokers follow suit now
GTX, FFC,
If it takes the price to the moon , I’m definitely cracking the Champagne.
Wolf bag 2, is Burford involved in the cases you have referred to ?
FFC,GTX,
Following your discussion on a takeover, just wondered why you think Burford May be approached for this.
What sort of an organisation might be in a position to do this and why ?
Have you read something that points your thinking towards this idea ?
Timing of when you think this may happen ?
News article posted today.
Burford funding the litigation ;

FFC,
Still hanging on to the Champagne ??, it will be shared with my Wife of course !
, so you now know I am the male species.
If I knew you as an individual I would bring a bottle of Port back to you from the origin , having a property in Portugal. Yes I do like a glass or two of good Port.
On your recent posting, I had given this some thought myself, and £14 wouldn’t surprise me at this time next year, I myself would like the short interests to disappear and am surprised this hasn’t happened yet, but might disappear soon. Will be holding on to Burford for the foreseeable future
All the best to all
TWT,
It’s any ones guess where the SP will go next week but at least we get a good long break before 19th, not sure if trading will start in UK or in US, on 19th, has anyone been briefed on this ?
TWT, £8 would be a good end to get to on Tuesday close. I have a good bottle of Champagne that I have been pondering over, and when to pop the cork, I will give it some thought
Jammy,
as far as I have been made aware of by HL broker, we have Monday and Tuesday only to buy, however I think on Wednesday you can sell only.
The volume has been up in the last few days, My thinking would be a continuation of the up trend until suspension on Tuesday close. . it would be nice to see brokers re-assessing their SP forecasts. I would think there will be some media coverage of some sort this weekend or sometime next week and then of course one would expect that BURFORD has been strategically getting prepared in the US.
FFC, nice rise today again.
This SP really is Bagging it up right now, Do you think we will hit £8 on Tuesday close ?
GTX1,
Most helpful, thankyou, I shall be having a good read later tonight.
And yet another website where I can find more information
Thankyou
Thought I would ask this question as I can’t find the answer on the Internet. Thought someone on this board would be able to help. The UT trade is recorded after hours and I am always fascinated by the figures. Today the trade was showing as a buy (blue) of some £600k. The other day it was a sell (red) of some £1m.
Just wondered what it meant if it was a buy or a sell. Also why a big number one day and a smaller number another day ?
From what I can gather there are only 5 days to go for trading, then a period of suspension will come in to play. Never envisaged this but all makes sense.
I suppose this would put some heads thinking, and a surge may well be about to happen in the coming few days. A few weeks ago I had thought the price would go much higher once the SEC approval was achieved. I was hoping for £7.50, could well pass this, will be an interesting next few days
Regarding where to put the shares, I will be sticking with AIM, merely because I feel more comfortable with where’s they are at the moment. Most of the holding I have is in an ISA.
Regarding the SP in 12 months, I don’t normally publicize what are my personal thoughts, but this seems more like a bit of fun, but my thinking is that markets will take off in 2021, hopefully due to COVID 19 fading, Negative interest rates will push money into the markets, and further updates/results from Burford would in my opinion see £14 toward the end of 2021, all of this relies on significant positive updates from Burford
FFC , If it drops to late fives might top up, but have a rather large holding already,
Would like to see it rising towards the end of next week or week beginning 12th October.
I can see that Kuvari Partners have increased their short by 0.11% as of yesterday.
Yuri, don’t need to sell Burford to retire, but I do like Jammy’s projection when I am a 65 year old, that’s 13 years away, holding nearly 44,000 shares would come to some ridiculous figure, might be worth the wait ?
Jammy, nice work with your projections,
Looking at the brokers, although don’t always believe what I read............
“6 brokers have issued twelve-month target prices for Burford Capital's shares. Their forecasts range from GBX 500 to GBX 2,600. On average, they anticipate Burford Capital's stock price to reach GBX 1,074 in the next twelve months. This suggests a possible upside of 82.3% from the stock's current price.”. The average for the next 12 months seems to come sooner than your projection, I will be interested to see the broker forecast updates over the coming days. I presume there will be brokers in the USA that will be acting as well in the future.
