FFC,
Not sure how the shorts are activated. Maybe they have a short but only use it when they see an opportunity to move the price down rapidly
AGM - Tuesday 17th May
Ex dividend -25th May
YPF case - The next rounds of documents in the summary judgment application are due on 26 May 2022 and 23 June 2022.
Yes, I’m sure it will be z as positive update,
pencil in that date for the AGM (18th May).
Now holding 64,000, so yes looking forward to a rise, all looks positive , just a little more patience
TWT, you share my thoughts, just thinking about the SP rise if we win, what sort of increase are you thinking of ?
This claim is definitely one to watch, information is scarce but have found a couple of sources…….., would be interested to know more if anyone has info
Source 1.
Burford Capital is backing a USD $8.8 billion claim by Australian mining company Sundance Resources against the Government of the Republic of Congo and, if required, the Government of Cameroon. The dispute arises out of the Congo Government's expropriation of the mining permit of one of Sundance's subsidiaries in the Sangha region of Congo. Arbitration proceedings have already been commenced in London under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce. Clifford Chance is representing the company.
Source 2.
The company, which said in December it would seek damages of $US8.76 billion ($A11.27 billion), said it would be represented by Clifford Chance.
This was a private hearing, Sebastian Maril was not invited, hence there is nothing to report. I’m not sure about 27th if this is private or not ?
Hi Yuri, same here mate, topped up at 729, now holding 58,900 shares, should be near the bottom now
Not sure about a special dividend, more like a special SP
Blue Wiley,
This company is definitely going to be a bagger, that’s why I’m in with 55,000 shares,
If you want to bag it, you need to be in it !
Depends how you want to define bent ?
I would think most companies and financial institutions will have some form of being bent
Bought 300k
Managed to get 250k
Tried at 300k same problem, can’t buy
Trying to buy 500k……….. won’t let me
Flakey, where do you get your info, can’t see it on shorttracker
Ameriprise have been increasing their holding, nice to see the latest increase from 3.28% in sept up to 5%
Corporates piling in, nice to see ….
I have always looked on the very conservative side with any investments. lets wait and see and lets hope 2022 at some point, is the start of positive news coming through. I remember Chris Bogart saying mentioning Burford would become a much higher valued company in the future, i think he was referring to 2022 onwards, so i'm taking his word for it. i have 55,000 shares so could well be a time to give up the day job when this is reflected in the SP.
Check out TW's report its lengthy and the valuation is towards the bottom of the report.

Looking ahead, and once the pandemic settles and markets adjust accordingly.
If Petersen settles out of court, this according to various reports would increase the SP by around £5. Burford should generate more cash next year due to its larger investment portfolio of cases, lets say the SP increases by £2 based on this. This would give an increase of £7 . I would not be surprised to see the SP getting to £14.50 by the end of summer.
