They went ex divi today, so the were always going to drop + it is a market down day.If you take the divi into the calculation they are both eaksy peaksy

You are easy confused then,if you had sold on Tuesday then there is no reason to expect the divi and if you bought today at the ex divi price then why should you expect the divi?

For the few on here who do not seem to understand, ex dividend means ''EXCLUDING'' dividend ie on/ after that date and you do NOT get the dividend.

I hear you Johnson and don't disagree.There are more ways than one to skin a cat. As of this moment the sp is 322p,add the divi of approx. 8.5p =330.5p so not selling also seems to be a good idea but only at this instant in time, things change fast.

Anybody who sold yesterday and has yet to buy back is now underwater.As I said earlier, timing is just another name for luck.

10,000 shares would get you £850 dividend. a sale yesterday at 322p and reinvested today after taking into account 2 x dealing fees and stamp duty would get you back 10360 shares at 309p. Now do you think you will be able to buy 360 shares on the 19th June for £850 ? that would require buying them at £2.35
-------------------How many of the people who sold yesterday and bought back today managed 323p and 309p? 1%? 2%? 5%?.The rest got less and for most it was not worth the bother.Johnson 36,I am not suggesting that you did not manage it but you just got lucky,it could have went the other way.

What is it they say only invest what you can afford to lose. ---------- and when you lose it then you are like a bear with a sore a**e.

What's the dividend rate? If someone bought 20K worth of shares what is the dividend amount?. £20k will be about 6250 shares and at today's rates 10.5 cents will equal 8.45p therefore you get 8.45p x 6250 = £528 approx.
