The ordinary man is well aware that simply turning their back on Ukraine will not reduce the economic woes, but will simply allow time to line up the next one. Economic pain now, more secure for later. And the ordinary man knows this may well lead to WWIII and the danger of ending up under an oppressive regime. Be under no illusions how far people will go to defend their turf and their way of life. Snobby Europe thinking it is the pre-eminent society and culture on earth, the British with their fish & chips, the Nordic countries and their high standard of living. Putin threatens them all, and al of them have resigned themselves to draw the line and push back. Only the demise of Putin and his followers will restore relations and trust with Russia and it will now take at least a generation. The extraordinary exodus of western interests right from the start and ongoing, POLY to join soon, shows just how deep this runs. There is no diplomatic exit for Russia, there will be no accommodation. There will be no appeasement.

My god there are some delusional fools out there. It's that kind of wishful thinking that ends up with the aggressors believing prosecuting war may have a beneficial result. Spreading this kind of propaganda only encouragers aggressors. A UN force led by NATO occupying Russia is more likely than Ukraine being forced to abandon invaded land and the people there.

Now the market is closed, 'events' will happen locking out even the shrewdest investor. If you weren't in before the close, you only have yourselves to blame. Putin will know he can't outbid the US, let alone a coalition.

Remember Reagan's 'star wars' program? It was the west announcing a major expansion of high tech weapons with a massive budget. The Soviets had to either match it or fold. They just didn't have the resources so folded. Instead the Soviet Union called it a day. There was no subsequent invasion from nato or star wars program as there was no longer a Soviet threat.

There is a reason the US hasn't done much development on these weapons to date, only enough to check what the other side might have available in order to design counter measures. Peace can be made at any time by Russia simply removing its forces from Ukraine soil and stop the bombing.
What is there to discuss? It is 100% on Russia. There is nothing Zelensky can say or do to stop it. Only Russia invaded, therefore only Russia can withdraw.
