Well, my mid-term was always 250 by April and 300 by year end (I note adverts for the Christmas fairs have already gone out on Jet2 for example). I gave up day trading but it is an addictive sport and with the bathroom refit the temptation to start covering the cost and end up with a free bathroom is irresistible. The pandemic and lock down has presented an unparalleled opportunity to buy-in to stocks that normally only ever drift around a few percent over months, neigh years, but during the recovery have the potential to bounce back as quickly as they fell. That is why I jumped into the fire pit once more. I am currently locked in a few percent down on Jet2, and locked in a hefty 12%ish on RTN. For me, I just sit it out. The unique aspect of the current market of stocks depleted by lockdown is the probability of a return is very high. But there has to be realistic expectations as to where the 'return' level will be. For RR, which many are in and I may be in again at some point, I remark about where it was in reality pre-pandemic - I would say a return level of say 155. For IAG, would a level of 75% be a reasonable return point I ask myself? So I give a return level of 300. For RTN - my gamble is there will be a repeat of the eat out scheme or some such help to restart the restaurant sector, my target there is in the 137 region. Jet2, when there are actual holiday makers seen disembarking, maybe 1500 tops? I have only been allowed to play with limited funds and since I do not love my stocks and I am a debased greedy bastard, I will dump and switch to any one of a range of possible alternatives. It is why I did leave IAG as I saw potential elsewhere. I'm pretty sure I will do it again. If you are buying to hold I recommend you then turn off your computer, use your app for a critical alert should your stock begin to crash and then read the complete works of Shakespeare, War and Peace, all Famous Five and Secret Seven, then write screen plays for all the Famous Five and Secret Seven, post the manuscripts off to Holywood and fly over to pick up your Oscars in a couple of years.
Simples!
