Your understanding of what drives people to venture and explore is a bit blinkered. It is a natural instinct to explore and experience an alternate circumstance to what you have become familiar with. That is the psychological break. Experience weather and the sun just a few degrees further south is another positive mental boost for many. Big? The first news story to create big swings is a downer, On the Beach. It is 100% predictable between the green list announcement and the first review this is going to swing big in both directions. Yesterday the sp was constantly pecking to breach 190, it just managed that today clearing a pile of spook pi sells. In days to come,the exact opposite will happen as it flips to 220. It is difficult to know which spook news story, positive or negative, will break, so it is all about monitoring your preferred info source and reacting appropriately. For some, the distance between profit taking will be longer or shorter than for others. But any idea that there is any special signal here is a nonsense. Today it flips down on the open due to a tour company story. Tomorrow the exact opposite may, or may not happen. If you want to run around the playground waving your willy at everyone you go ahead and enjoy yourself. I will sit on the bench playing with my toy cars and smirk at you!

On the Beach going under? It is a bit of a snooty operation with this belief that 'quality' is what they do and nobody else. I hate companies like that. Typically they offer no better than anyone else and anything notable will be charged over the odds. If the snooty company thinks it is beneath them to offer holidays without cast iron guarantees then sod them. There are plenty others that will. And if they think they are going to rally some great crusade to their snooty cause, they will be very much mistaken. I am pretty sure I heard they were in trouble before the pandemic anyway. Their news is of no real consequence.

Don't forget a visit to James Bond island, the rock formation at the entrance to Scaramanga's lair is real! Journey there is great but the place has been turned into a tourist trap. But definitely worth a visit, perhaps with a bit of cannoning and snorkelling.

Of course, some may get in much lower but then sell earlier whilst those in now sell much later making more profit overall. As long as you sell higher net than you bought you made a profit and beating inflation isn't that hard at the moment. News stories rumour are going to spook this in both directions. I am interested in tomorrow when I think there is some reporting coming over form EU and will the UK act independently. That is what I am waiting for. SO if the sp crashes to 0.1p, great buying opportunity !!!! :) :) but I'm already in.

I'm expecting travel industry execs to blitz media with high positive good news coming stories trying to bounce ministers in to following through (any one remember Joanna Lumley bouncing the armed forces minister over Nepalese vets?). A runaway up spike based on that [cash in], ministers clarify/deny/flap/obfuscate leading to big dip [buy], actual change announced by ministers speeding up borders with spike up in sp [sell half], and so on....... I'll tick each one off as it happens lol.

And here begins the lesson. I never use orders because you have no control over the timing. Setting an order at 210 means when the sp matches the order then it is sent into the market and the closest price is given. In a volatile market that could mean settling at anything for 170 to 250. It all depends where you end up in the queue. Once your order is sent to the market you have no control over what the settlement will be and cannot recall it. I learned this the hard way many years ago and since have heard terrible horror stories, usually from people who's orders were triggered near tight spikes and ended up with big losses rather than gains. I always do it manually. These days through a smart phone and 3G and using a live price app with alert it can be done almost anywhere. If you use stops, good luck but for shares in this sector prone to very volatile movements it is very risky.

Well, now the orders have been shaken out, the sp is looking stable with now sign of decline. A little upward slope perhaps. We wait for the rumour mill to send things upside down or the EU announcements and how they affect the UK and whether the UK will go it alone and make its own green list decisions [i.e. naming the Canaries and other island groups as green despite EU telling Downing St not to]. I'm looking for news of increased border support in UK - streamlined admin channels for example even on the aircraft! Also keeping a close eye on news from the US resorts for signs they are gearing up to welcome UK/EU visitors. I understand there is very heavy pressure and some very blunt talking going on behind the scenes, Easy J threatening to move its Stanstead operations out of the UK for example - sorry but I don't have a source it is hearsay. But it is an example of the kind of thumb screws currently being deployed.

Your flapping around trying to drum up some qualification to justify the issue of debt as a non event. You must quote such aspersions. What you have actually down is raise a more heightened degree of awareness and questions rather than assuage wavering pis. Against the previous firm statements within RNS statements that IAG has sufficient cash to see it through to 2022, this increase in debt can only lead to an eye brow raising. If the limited green list resulted in a cash exposure not accounted for, then what happens if there no extension of the green list at the next review, new border lockdowns, retreat of free travel anywhere?? Certainly there is a red day all around, but issuing 80000000000000000000 debt in any currancy must be noted and can not be so easily spun away. A Mandelson you are not.
