Yes, as it frequently seems to do, so if you can take the risk of hour-trading, or even minute-trading, CCL is the share for you.

Thanks Lloydy. I think I get that but it doesn’t seem to happen to all dual-listed stocks, though, and on the days when you would expect it to go down, it goes up and vice versa.

I suspect that is not a good trading rationale - actually, I am not sure there is such a thing for this share. Mine is “hang in there, buddy, it will get there soon enough” ( 12-18 months by my reckoning to get to £25).

There is just no way that the share should have dropped 20-25p in the space of two minutes. Maybe it’s profit-takers. We are still 2% up on the day so shouldn’t complain…………even though it’s fun to do just that!

Like you, Bot, I am fascinated by what I can only call background stuff, i.e. things that can go unnoticed like the exchange rate. You will hear the phrase “constant exchange rate” fairly frequently in the webinars/simulcasts when results are announced. Delighted with today’s gain, of course, but, like you say, something has changed and not particularly coincident with the NYSE opening at 14:30 but just after that the SP spike and then fell away a little.

Oh well, tomorrow’s another day. I am presently 62%+ above my average buy-in.

Nothing to complain about there. Just wish NatWest would pull its socks up a but quicker.

Thank you all for your insights and input. I think we have all believed for quite a time that CCL would recover to a high that properly reflects the company’s true worth and also taking into account management reporting. Q3 results will be due end of September and should be positive. Just have to hope they “exceed expectations”. But several agencies have upgraded their view of the SP but I’m not sure those upgrades are reflected yet.

Onward and upward, as Topo might say!

As far as I know, the policy of not over-asking guests is still a good one evidenced by that simple practice of placing a coaster to show that a table had been asked or was waiting for their order. This has been done for years. On Arcadia in May/June it was still in place.

You could always lift a couple of coasters next time and use them yourself, just to be sure? Lol.

I am so glad we get sensible debate here. Some other threads leave me speechless. Because there doesn’t appear to be any moderation, personal insults abound.

Of course, each must make up their own mind. I still hold to the view that in the longer term, say, a couple of years, we shall get to the mid to high £20’s, simply because they have now set a strategy for that period, including paying down debt and bookings are steadily increasing along with a few new ships coming, too.

Carnival announced only yesterday that Holland America Line had its highest booking day EVER. Maybe it will pick up a bit this pm.

My own position here is that I am currently 57% up on my “average” which is around £7.95 so I am not moaning at all.
