Well it’s looking good for the future, looks like scally might not be a duster after all, long way to go but it will be good with having HAV producing should put us in a great position financially when the better results start coming in!

You can see why the board has been getting bigger and it’s not just for 30% of HAV!

If they did merge it could be possible that Newmont would control the American continent assets and Newcrest would control the Australian arm with a joint pool of funds!
Is this a possibility?
Many variables to the outcome, interesting times ahead!

Correct droverman but now it’s been invested in and they are on the cusp of producing for the foreseeable future, not a good time to sell unless the offer is eye watering!
True culpepper it will be interesting to see how this pans out!

Can I ask you and anyone else for their opinion on this scenario.
If you were a Newcrest shareholder would you be happy or in a hurry to sell Telfer especially where it is situated?
When you have 70% of a tier1 mine on your doorstep!
Also sitting in the Paterson area where most experts are predicting many new finds and a lot of junior miners needing to use your processing plant and you are already in a Jv with a junior explorer/ miner Ggp.

Off to OZ 22nd for a month, hopefully I will meet with my missus nephew he is in the mining industry, so hopefully he can shed some light on Newmont/ Newcrest scenario!
Also I will get his take on the 5% and the improvement to the board!

I hope you are all well!
Interesting take from the two trading updates, take from it what we can but I think a lot more information has been held back!
One thing did happen after Christmas which might affected completions was persimmons around our way didn’t start back for an extra two weeks.
Add to that the bad weather before Christmas ( lost nearly a week) and again we had another cold spell late January for about a week, that’s about four weeks !
8% of your working year , with the shortage in labour it’s close to impossible to catch up!
I know we are still flat out around East Midlands and I presume the rest of the country is the same.
Just some information to muse over and I am not trying to influence anyone.

If we are looking for facts, can you tell us why we have a board now that Newcrest would be proud of and we are probably a year away from first production?
Also on top of that what else are they here for ( it’s not for 30% of a 20moz mine)!
So at the moment all we can do is surmise!
No malice meant but everything is guesswork at the moment!

That’s what I am saying, I would prefer to be little brother to Newcrest than wyloo taking over!
I feel they would buy up there 16% and we would be sold on the cheap to them!
I could be wrong!

Also another thing we must think about is , if wyloo buy out Telfer and Newcrest’s 70% of HAV, I don’t think that will bode well for us!
Can’t see Ggp being able to buy it on their own ( I would like to see it) but at what cost!
Not sure, I prefer to play little brother to Newcrest to be honest!

I can’t see Newcrest selling up , unless they are in that much financial trouble, that they have to!
They have done all the hard work and if you think about it, Shaun has been talking openly about this being a 20moz mine for about a year!
So imagine what figures are in his head now!

The time’s ahead are going to be very interesting, early next year we are going mining!
We have the financial backing!
On top of that we have interested parties in Newcrest and undoubtedly in ourselves!
We also have licenses where experts are expecting hits ( eventually)
So this makes this share ONE BIG TICKING TIME BOMB and at the moment it’s just a waiting game!

Just over 5 billion shares in issue @30p would value the company at £1.5b as a starter!

Good sales over the weekend, my problem is I go to Australia near the end of March for a month, so it doesn’t look like I can play!
