Anyway I see death rates have started to decrease over a few countries.
Hopefully we could be reaching a turning point. Not sure how much it will change when the masses are released, hopefully we find a antidote soon.

You have some firms who can’t afford it and often end up in debt over it.
You have others like tw who can bank it for a rainy day and if all picks up , a nice little Christmas bonus.

You are right about the houses having to be made weather tight. That’s why the initial shut down was for three weeks. Then I think they will take stock and see what materials will be needed where. Now me I will be laughing because there’s two gangs on site, all plots started are HA’s so I would imagine they would be the ones pushed on , about two months work bit more maybe with walls. So expect to be back in a couple weeks. But who knows:)))

The main reason for the housing sites are closed is because they are on a wait to see!
If they can’t sell they won’t build them, also supply of materials, there’s normally about two weeks worth on site. Once it’s gone it’s gone . As ibstock have stopped making bricks and blocks, I would imagine the other suppliers to be the same. So a wait and see policy is in place. If it goes on to long there will be a change of view!

Cdl the way to look at it , Nig is right in a way the shortage of houses will be increasing. The longer it goes on the more people will leave the industry.
The more chance of the government stepping in and building council houses.
So could be a mini boom.
Saying that I can still see the house builders trying it on and trying to decrease the rates, we must stay strong and say no ! Maybe we can ask Troubles if he knows a good union leader:))

When we get back to working can you see a stitch up , by the firms.
Reprice and trying to lower the rates, because some young ones with mortgages might buckle. Fortunately not many new ones coming in. Just a thought

Thanks for that ! I wonder where the money is coming from? Probably a tax rise next year. The news today is gloomy for house builders today, telling people to delay house purchases.
