Hi bamps yes a bit of a problem with the silo meant to be filled this week!
We have used ready mix on block work for the last week nearly run out of blockwork now so getting a bit desperate.

Yes I believe it’s true lots of glum faces, now it could be one of three things scaremongering so people don’t self isolate after furlough!
Because of merger a bit of a cull or the worry of sales and going forward this year.

Tomorrow should make for an interesting day, Vty Agm and today they sent out emails telling staff pay cuts are coming and redundancies! I wonder if the other house builders will follow.

Spoke to another brick Barron from Leicester way, none of his sites have started looks like it could be a bit of a drag next couple of weeks!

Yes I think if they manage to get 50% of sales through this year, I reckon will be a result anything better will be blinding.
Then there could be a good chance of a divi pre Christmas, likely to be about 50% in my view but it will depend on the carnage ( job wise) in the next two months!

Been a beautiful week, work and leisure wise (back garden and barbecue)!
Sales on site seems good not a lot in stock now ,finishing the Ha’s and site done.
Seems a good vibe with the contracts manager says plenty seems to be going ahead, just a slow catch up with materials.
Also heard a whisper that the government has said to the HB’s if you need to change style or usage of houses.ie turn into HA’s red tap has been cut and councils won’t stand in the way!
Can anybody else confirm this?
Also this furlough money, us s/e people not used to this. As I see it I will have to pay tax on it. If I put it in a sipp I won’t is my thinking right.

The thing which is concerning me at the moment is how high the FTSE is .
With what’s happening and how the banks shares are so low.
Half the industry’s are knackered and just waiting to go under.
What’s propping the FTSE
Can there be a major rerate or am I getting the wrong vibe

Good point Debenhams have a lovely building here on market square Nottingham.
I wonder if that’s why peter made his first move over to travis, worth a good punt.
Lots of bargains out there just making the best choice !

Good point so if we are moving away from commuting then surely the money from HS2 could be used for installing broadband to the rural communities.
In my eyes anything good for business is good for the country.

I have been thinking about these offices close and people working from home!
If this happens I can see London area and the s/e being mostly affected.
I would imagine people selling up there more expensive properties and moving more north or rural, if they no longer need to be near there work.
Also the railways will be screwed no commuting, also HS2 would there be any need for that now.
Just a bit of food for thought

It will be interesting to see if the time schedule and penalty clauses have been taken out of construction contracts, because of this social distancing and decreased personnel.
If so could be good for the likes of the main contractors, as you know they normally have to flood the jobs and what happens is the same old people are cracking on and there are the ones wandering around, trying to look busy.
Just what I’ve seen in the past.
So if that is the case could be a good time to get into the builders.
What say you on gfrd , I know you are into costains.
Gfrd should have a £100 m in the bank and a market cap off£150 m

The thing that interests me is the offices in city centres,if this working from home is a success for some firms.
Will they get rid of some or most of there offices, that means that they will probably be converted to apartments and city living.
Also the shops that go bust this could be the nail.

No worries here, just makes you laugh when you think you have made a blinding move and then there’s just a little bit more there to have!
I must disagree with you on this mega recession and the builders!
My belief is if they don’t prop construction and housing, then we will have a mega recession!
All the other industries will take time to get back,aviation, entertainments, manufacturing,etc.
So construction across the board will probably have to support the country until everything gets on there feet!

Just been flicking through the channels and started watching the keiser report.
They were talking about Argentina, that it’s economy is collapsing and how the government are basically going to take all there money.
How they are and other some other South American countries might be moving to bit coin and away from the dollar for there currency.
Then they went on to slam the imf and slating America and saying they are in big trouble, with all this money printing.
Interesting but of subject for Tw I know.

First of all I would like to thank you for talking me into Ncyt, I topped up with a substantial amount,watched a roller coaster ride and listened to a lot of bs on the chat board. Cashed in today made a nice little profit! I thank you for that. But I remembered why I hated Aim.
So now looking to get back into the house builders. Hopefully would like to get in Tw at a price of 120 -135 optermistic I know but you can but try . Also looking at vistry at 650 -725 . That’s the plan

Off to work again the site is like a ghost town, don’t think there will be a quick build until they are completely all over this virus! This is not deramping just to let you know, make your own mind on it.
I will let you know when it starts to speed up, by the way I am on a vistry site and all the rest of the houses are HA’s.

Just been looking at covid 19 testing kits.
They cost around £150 to £250 including lab fees that seems a lot!
If we are going to test the whole country several times over.
Even if we are able to halve that, it will be a massive turnover. All you want is a 5-10% profit and you will be laughing!
