Copper has been over 6000 for over couple weeks now, surely glens price should be about 220 by now.

I worked on a vistry site up until two weeks ago.
Just finished the last houses , getting ready now for a big push lots of sites about to start around us and most will be affordable housing, so I am expecting a busy winter.
Covid has put a few things back a couple of months, but I think we will be in for a busier twelve months than most other HB as our contracts were already signed off with the HAs.
So I’m expecting the price to fly in the next couple of months!

I chose this house builder over the others is purely they are better placed for HA’s and the regeneration side.
When Bovis bought lindens it was purely for this reason as bovis has a house building side .
Lindens had and still are signing massive contracts with different Ha’s for affordable housing.
So I’m my eyes this is recession proof, just patience is needed!

When we were working in Germany, bought back memories, solid houses them 24cm blockwork walls,20cm cavity , 2 x 50mm cavity batts water bonded clipped them 100mm brickwork skin.
They were getting ready for another war .
A big eye opener for a young man, different build styles.

Gables are free standing and weak because you have no returns.
Now as they are so weak you wouldn’t expect them to make them weaker by putting a tray damp all the way through, so as it saves money on insulation in the roof space.
Must save them £30 a house!

All very interesting views but I was trying to say there is no bankers out there long term.
Short term you can see quite a few!
Medium term a bit less and a bit more riskier ( you must be ready to pull out)
Long term nothing stands out maybe Lloyds , short term going to get hit .
Centrica no way
Severn Trent maybe but if labour gets in then depending on the leader will buy back.

Even the interests rates are not worth a j Arthur!

The bricks we are using at moment are made by frontera part of the Heidelberg cement works company.
The old concrete bricks I believe are facings so must of moved on , not had anyone to talk to about what happened.
Only my second day.

Done my first shift on persimmons yesterday and not a concrete brick in sight.
I will try to find out what happened but looks like they have moved on from them.
Vibe feels good and they are pulling out more footings so looks pretty rosy.
I am not sure how long I will stay, quite a few sites starting closer to home.

Good points and well pointed out the comparisons with other HB’s, I worked on bellway’s three odd years ago and they were pretty good to work, well clued up and built a good house.
So am I reading this right the £610 mill they promised in divi was in anticipation they would have on the build this year.
So not the money in the bank from previous year.
I know we have no divi this year, but I thought that would be the saving and make them cash rich.
Oh well read that wrong!

****ing it down here, anyway finished At lindens now and starting at persimmons this morning let you know what the vibe is here. Seems strange they needed to raise that kind of money when they were saying they are cash rich and had a land bank for 10 years. Some figures are definitely not tallying up .

I am in the Hb side as a bricklayer.
The reason why I think the investors are keeping a wide birth of the construction side , is the fact they used to work on such a low profit margin 1% the old director of this firm said!
Now hopefully they have started pricing with a better margin!
Also you had a few firms went bust ie: carrilion interserve and kier were in trouble, also Galliford was being propped by the house building side .
So I believe they will be looking at half yearly and final results with big interest.
Just my opinion and yes I am invested at a great price I believe good luck all

I have been wondering for a while why the stock markets around the world have been high compared to how well the economy has been doing!
Just been watching the kaiser report and they have been talking about this Robin Hood app and how all these investors have been given $1200 dollars each to invest , so the Dow has been propped up by this!
Have we got the same scheme going on here?

Yes you are correct they sold linden Homes and the regeneration part of the company for 1.1bill in total, that includes the debts being paid off and £100 m in the bank.
