How can a £2m company be so much in debt at such horrendous interest rates? Presumably because their prize asset is worth much more than their liabilities. IIP was always a binary bet - I look forward to the company being liquidated and receiving multiples of the current SP.

I increased my holding this week by 70% but there have also been some hefty sells. At the current SP the compensation would have to be a tiny fraction of what's being claimed for a new investor not to make a profit but where are they?

Sales at the vegan burger maker Beyond Meat have slumped by almost a third as consumers opt for cheaper animal protein amid the cost of living crisis.

I said years ago that every PF should have £1k invested in ZIOC just on the off chance of hitting the jackpot and I still think it's a good idea!

I bought this week on the grounds that it's valued @ £19m with £5.5m in the bank and no debt. A PE of 4.5 looks cheap and there are less than 56m shares in issue with 61% NIPH. More importantly, if its major competitor should sink under a mountain of debt then VINO must pick up thousands of new customers DYOR

"something out of the ordinary" = a huge gold discovery or a major JV partner who anticipates a huge gold discovery. It's not rocket science. If the gold's in them thar hills then ORR remains a bargain regardless of the life support system it has adopted.

Agreed, Eileen's investment is the big mystery here. Possibly the elephant in the room. Yet the SP is where it is due to kneejerk reactions from very few shareholders. I'd like to think the BOD entered into the Lanstead deal knowing something very positive is very probably just over the horizon - that's the only explanation I can think of that would leave Eileen happy she paid what she paid.

There are not currently any reports of widespread fires in Crete, the largest of the Greek islands. However, last Tuesday the popular holiday destination was put on high alert, with residents told that there is an extreme risk of fire.

This warning, which was issued by Greece’s Civil Protection, means Crete is at a level five alert category, which is the same as Rhodes. While environmentalists and many scientists have warned that new fossil fuel projects are incompatible with net zero targets, Sunak told BBC Radio Scotland’s Good Morning Scotland programme that the 100 new North Sea oil & gas licences were integral to the plan.

“When we reach net zero in 2050, a quarter of our energy needs will still come from oil and gas, and domestic gas production has about a quarter or a third of the carbon footprint of imported gas,” Sunak said.

“So not only is it better for our energy security, not to rely on foreign dictators for that energy, not only is it good for jobs, particularly Scottish jobs, it’s actually better for the environment because there’s no point in importing stuff from halfway around the world, with two to three times the carbon footprint of the stuff we’ve got at home.”
