100% FJ. Turn the news off and enjoy the sunshine!
From .gov below. Nothing changes for us short term.
Domestic cruises
Domestic cruises depart from and return to UK ports. They may operate beyond UK waters, but are currently restricted to UK port calls and carrying residents from the UK and the Common Travel Area (Jersey, Guernsey, Isle of Man and Ireland) only.
Passengers from outside England should check their local travel restrictions before making travel plans.
Coronavirus restrictions
Coronavirus restrictions apply in England.
Roadmap out of lockdown
The government has announced its plans to ease lockdown restrictions.
Roadmap step 3 – from 17 May
Domestic cruises are permitted in England under step 3 of the roadmap out of lockdown.
Domestic cruises can operate with up to 1,000 people or 50% capacity, whichever is lower. This capacity limit applies to passengers only.
COVID-secure guidance applies. Groups of more than 6 people or 2 households will not be allowed to mix indoors – whether or not they originally booked in the same group.
Having been away this week at a tourist destination area. The amount of money being spent within the UK must be phenomenal! He wants us spending in the UK.
Not sure how long they can keep it up before people start rebelling.
I expect a ‘release’ end of July for school summer holidays.
Fortunately for us we start sailing and ending the cash burn and start making money, end of this month....and fully expect by end of August international cruising to be Ok.
I think the big airlines/operators are really going to struggle now.
Even though Saga is predominantly insurance, unfortunately we have been thrown in the travel bucket. So having looked at the charts for other travel companies we seem to be following the same patterns. Although we are holding up much much better. Just IMO, DYOR.
My old man has just renewed with Saga on a 3 year fix, and he’s tight as f**k
Interestingly I did mine this morning and saved £300 a year after my previous put my renewal up an extra 10%. Certainty will put a rabbit amongst the pigeons
Sorry I missed that....nodded off.
Yeah thanks FJ & Gordon.
This share is really starting to get on my nerves....there’s patience and there’s patience! Only need £5.25 for target. Anyway...rants over!
I agree Bat...today is when domestic cruising officially gets the go ahead...just seen P&O Ship captain in Sky news announcing so, expected a lot more.
I get the Indian variant thing but nothing more than any other variant, but just spreads quicker and with 22m now double vaccinated, and hospitality opening up as well as some flights resuming....something doesn’t seem right??
Even better! Two officers had to drive an hour and half from a Humberside Police to West Yorkshire Police to interview me.....for me to show them paperwork they had messed up! And didn’t check before they set off. Couldn’t make it up.
Haha...great story Joe!
I’ll put the police compensation behind the Champagne bar! £850 for the first hour in custody apparently. Was pretty funny listening to all the smack heads shouting and trying to kick the cell doors down hahaha
Think I’ll give it a miss tonight. Ended up sucking a 1ltr bottle, gave the police a load of s**t on email for being falsely arrested and detained on Sunday for watching my son play a football game. Then woke up at 7.30 forgetting I should be at work! 26 deliveries with a hangover! All good fun.
Might even try it on with the Mrs tonight

Every new colleague welcomed in small, covid safe groups throughout the day and all set up for home working by our brilliant IT crew. Welcome everyone!
Yes, they are our grounds and yes that is a sea view and yes the sun is shining. Not a bad office to return to after so long.

Horse - 2022 at 100%. See message below.
Hi ****, yeh working on 100% for 2022, we shouldn’t need isolation cabins by then but if it comes to it we will work through that nearer the time. As far as we’ve publicised it’s the first UK cruises that will be 80% but I would predict like you say the rest of possibly 2021 will be at the reduced capacity but nothing confirmed passed the UK cruises yet
I’ve asked the question Horse
Banbury what I don’t understand when it comes to Tour is why it is so loss making?
They are running a tour operator’Titan’ but don’t own planes, hotels, or other fixed assets.
Essentially all they do is have staff to take bookings, do the admin and general other operational stuff.
They book flights through 3rd parties just direct customer could do. They employ ‘Ground Handlers’ in each country, who look after everything abroad and the operation abroad. So effectively if everything stops like it has, where is the big outlay? If that makes sense?
