Good points on the payment process wellwell but I did hope for more from this half. I'm sure we will have received the payments for our first commercial orders now and they have not been what I hoped for. With product launches coming up I do hope revenue picks up and still put store in ME's comments about becoming cash flow positive on the current pipeline of orders. However, the balance sheet looks much worse than I anticipated. With those numbers I actually expect a cash raise now. Hopefully the money coming in after the reporting period will ameliorate the need. It was the risks that jumped out to me as well... - Overly reliant on one customer tells me display actually isn't enough for the company in this big year! - Chance of canabalising the rest of the business sounds very dodgy as well. Is display not performing well enough to effectively compete with the new business?

My initial reaction is extremely negative. Hope I'm wrong but I take it that we will only see a couple of monitors launched this year, no one in the TV market has bought into cadmium free yet, we sold a very small amount of dots from Runcorn, Dow has no customers at all, the other markets will not be impactful this year, the new contract is more of a risk than an opportunity at the moment and the balance sheet is very weak. $9M left with $4.8M loss per half means another cash raise very soon.

Hi ddubya, Regardless of the patents I'm pretty sure that the partner for paying for the development and infrastructure will have exclusivity written into the contract or at least, if Nanoco want to market the particles to other companies, "Not for products functionally within a million miles of what we're developing." Or, maybe the two companies will develop further new products together.

I think we'll need an announcement from the other party before Nanoco can say any more. Also, despite what some are saying about these particles possibly having many uses I also think the other party will have Nanoco tied down to exclusivity.

I expect the update to be... Still loss making but losses narrowing. Hopefully we will be able to quantify somewhat the ramp up in Dow royalties and volume of orders from AOU. Maybe even some impact from other business areas but I doubt there will really be any. The company will have an opportunity to say something about events that have happened since the end of Jan. If they do, that's where the real interest will lye since the new contract and Runcorn expansion happened afterward and we're still awaiting product launches for screens.

One has to wonder what the point is. Maybe LG are starting to recognise that they can't make enough OLED panels to take meaningful market share. I also notice they are using FALD. Seems it's a generic thing and not tied to AUO.

Edelman did say in the last interview that NANO were seeing increased demand from Japan as well as China and Taiwan. I thought it stood out as something somewhat new at the time.

I agree with Nanonano. A re-rating will come when we get the first profit reported or concrete confirmation of products on the shelves. Products are identified well enough now but we need those monitors, TVs or BFGDs launched and reviewed; or a published better balance sheet. I'm sure those events are just round the corner so not much longer to wait. The new partnership looks very significant but it's jam tomorrow with few details. More information will move that potential onto the SP.

I read it as rising to 13,000 sq ft. The size doesn't mean anything in terms of capacity or profitability as it's to produce an undisclosed product. I don't see why the new production line would need to start with shift workers so I'm inferring from the recent job adverts that the dot line is ramping up to over 1,000 kg. That may just be wishful thinking though.

Correct Bagppuss67 but the wording used is as good as. It won't show in the financials for a while no doubt and while execution risk remains it's a big step forward for my thinking on the matter and removed a lot of my pessimism.

Well posted greeens! IR sensors for cars eh. That doesn't really narrow down the field for partners at all as it's such hot technology :) Cash flow positive is great news as well. Lack of confirmation of that has been holding the price back significantly IMO. The market might still want to see it written down in a financial report but I for one am very happy to hear it.

I did notice that the advanced graphics card linked to on the BFGD page was the 1080ti so maybe that is tacit acceptance that the next generation will be delayed but that they are going ahead with the BFGD release anyway. @Mars, HP may sell 14m monitors a year but the vast majority will be very boring ones to call centres, etc.
