I never thought it likely they'd be out by mid year Nanonano. Especially given the lack of news on the 1100 cards. Just saying ME wasn't being untruthful.

BFGDs were scheduled for end of H1 2018 when that video was released Nanonano.

I wouldn't class what anyone has said here in the last couple of days as moaning. No emotion here. A few simple points... If these monitors aren't the high performance gaming displays that the company has talked about then what are? They were widely believed to be by many so Eskers' post was pertinent and if you believed they were using NANO's dots it's useful information. I was pretty certain but can't recall why as I've said before and therefore in my case I agree that it's a disappointment. I welcome the original post and people's subsequent views. One should constantly calibrate one's investments as new information emerges. It is true that AUO's 8K TV panels are widely reported as being cad free so maybe that's proof somewhat that the 27" monitors aren't.

It's been reported that the delays were down to making G-synch work with HDR and the cost down to FALD.

It doesn't make sense if it was planned Nanonano but I've seen stranger things happen as plans change.

"Standard dots" is pretty meaningless as there are no standards in the QD world. I would think an internal account manager is the right person to respond wellwell or the query wouldn't have been passed on to them. That said, I work for a large company and see customers get told all sorts of nonsense because an e-mail has been forwarded to the wrong person. One thought, these panels have been in development for so long that maybe they have started with cadmium and finished without. Given this is from the horses mouth though I guess we have to go with cadmium unless NANOs accounts start to show some strong sales.

We have had several updates since then moving expectations back to by end of 2018 for gaming monitors.

I honestly don't think anything is what one would call truly commercially available as... - Carewear is under trial with the Chicago Cubs. - Horticultural lighting is under trial with a large UK grower. - Life sciences is awaiting outward investment and new business plan as well as still requiring further trials. Display was still looking to be the first but if the AUO 4K HDR QD monitors aren't cad free then it might well be beaten to market by our new US chums. I can't think what other "High performance gaming monitors," The company and house brokers could have been referring to in the near term.

That's extremely odd. I'll have try to recall why I was convinced these were NANO dots. I was never under the impression that AUO would commit only to cad free dots but also assumed OEMs wouldn't bother marketing under cad free as it isn't meaningful to most end users. This does seem like a very strange response though Eskers.

Apologies Nigwit. I might have misunderstood this bit, "Most of the research I see is still in QDs so I am sure we have many years or decades before we have anything to worry about." It doesn't change the fact that all roadmaps out there at the moment have QD micro LEDs several years out. They must have made quite a leap indeed to bridge that gap. With it being such a wide side of products these screens don't look like development prototypes which is what everyone here seems to be talking about.
