DRB83 That was a very balanced post on covid and the vaccinations and it echoes my thoughts exactly. Being double jabbed does not, as is becoming ever more apparent to those who care to look, protect that person from getting covid or from transmitting it. Even the Govt's latest Guidance (17th Nov) highlights that:
"However, even if you have been fully vaccinated, you could still get COVID-19 and pass it on to others. Whilst the vaccines provide a high level of protection against severe disease, hospitalisation and death, a recent PHE report shows that around 1 in 5 people who have had both doses are still vulnerable to getting infected with the Delta variant and showing symptoms. You can also still spread COVID-19 to others".
I still think there are many people out there who read the Daily Mail and watch BBC News who don't know that - they believed Government Ministers saying the jabs were "perfectly safe and effective" and many got jabbed because of that. But we know the science is split and Government has sought to get people jabbed more by coercion than persuasion. I just wish we would have been allowed to listen to scientist debating the merits of the vaccines rather than belittle and demonise those who failed to follow the narrative.
As to the restaurant point, I'd rather go into a restaurant that had a testing regime but, since I am against any sort of Vax passport for entry I would rather that no restrictions were imposed.
It's nice to be able to write something longer than the 280 characters we are limited to on Twitter but I'm looking forward to participating in share chat when trading starts again tomorrow. GLA
