I’m wondering if the Dutch court ruling has generated uncertainty and thus anxiety over whether the business will reduce annual sales of oil more quickly than expected or have to raise capex to expedite reducing CO2 emissions.
That said I think the cash flow this quarter may exceed market expectations and lead to at least a similar level of debt reduction to last quarter, particularly if OP stays anywhere near current levels given average in 2020 was $42/b or 34% lower ($22 lower than 2019) and that might shake investors out of their despondency. The shares are beginning to look oversold against their peers but clearly the current dividend policy is still a bit opaque as share buy backs at current prices must be very tempting once debt has fallen to $65 b

The discount between SP and OP appears to be widening with Brent futures now at close to $71.25 but TFSB languishing just above 1300p
Still the company will be generating plenty of cash in Q2 if oil stays at current levels and of course we get an update on 29/7

Though the offsets are cash or near cash equivalents it’d be better if the gross figures were lower relative to Binet I guess but receivables will tend to go up with OP as part of working capital adjustment
Hope I’m not disappointed by SP move once debt target has been reached which I expect to be half way through Q3

While I couldn’t argue that selling and buying back on a 50% drop with the benefit of hindsight will generally make you money it doesn’t always follow as a friend who worked for TCG found to his chagrin

He’d a bucket load of “free” employee shares but topped up with personal cash once they’d fallen to 3p

The rest as they say is history GLA and I sincerely hope the company negotiate a better deal with creditors that doesn’t cripple them long term but gets sanction of the court and FCA backing as there a lot of inexperienced private investors in this share who are hurting today l’m thankfully not one but more by luck than judgement having switched to NSF a while back taking a stake I can afford to see wiped out which isn’t doing much to be honest!

Sorry you lost your profits but as I just replied to Johnny pc I’m horrified to see how much some small and by looks of it inexperienced pi have sunk into AMGO

I know they’ve been warned often enough and greed is something we are all susceptible to but I’ve had my share of failures which is why I’m holding here but not doubling down until there’s some positive news. OK I may make less but I’ll hopefully make some. GLA let’s hope NSF are next in line to issue some news but not have it followed by a 50% drop in SP

Yea me too I was HOR tied to read that some on AMGO BB had sunk their pensions / life savings into AMGO shares and appalled by the ramping comments everywhere
Then again people are frequently warned about not investing on the basis of BB recommendations and given how extremely risky it and to be fair NSF are, not to risk more than you can afford to lose! I hope the company can reach a better accommodation with creditors to win sanction of the court and FCA support as it is bad enough seeing people scammed out of their life savings without watching it happen albeit slightly differently in plain sight in a chat room :-(

However it will be interesting to see if RDS betters the $4.1b reduction of last quarter and it would be good if the company gave some guidance on its buyback plan for the second half though being prudent they might wait until the debt reduction target has been reached

If by some miracle they manage to have a blowout cash generative quarter then that could pique the interest of II depending on what else is happening and we might see some SP action especially Olof OP stays where it is or moves even higher

You won’t get any argument from me on the fundamentals of RDS which are sound and I’m holding tight

Expected it based on US market as greed over taken by panic as everybody thinks inflation is now inevitable and the era of free money to buy shares is over
This is going to test resolve to invest in fundamentals but I’d wait to see if RDSB tests 1250 before buying again and will be watching OP response to see if contagion spreads to other economic data

Brent futures currently $69.45 which is a pretty good proposition for RDS upstream and LNG operations

It’s my biggest holding ever by a long way too and has tested my patience.
Today hasn’t started well but markets tend to react and short term investors do panic so I’m just going to sit tight
The fundamentals of RDS are sound and much of the problems with SP in short term IMHO is the current frugality of the dividend policy but there’s a clear route out of that as debt will be paid down to target by Summer GLA

No discernible effect on RDSB SP or OP though gasoline did spike overnight

We need some news on NSF at least a trading update though I guess that depends on FCA decision
