I thought I'd give it a week to see how your "pump & dump" worked out and clearly almost every day since you posted offered lower entry points.
Perhaps people did not buy into your fantasy of a 10p share placing but realised, as the RNS said, that it was a placing of options to buy at 10p, (which are given free to staff/directors).
Never mind though, this week you can pump & dump from an even lower level than previously !

I topped today up at just a tad under £40, assuming the divi is priced in GBP going forward the yield is about 3.76% which seems highly attractive.

ULVR will be fine, a left field thought, could their weakness of late be due to Dutch selling since the plc was consolidated in UK not Holland ?
I know we would have suffered on our dividend if we suffered Dutch tax treatment, I wonder if the reverse could be true too causing the Cloggies to sell ?

I take all your points bar one, which is that Anand is surely interested in buying pubs not renting them, which is what we are doing with Brains?

It is an old market adage that an RNS after hours on a Friday is very rarely good news and I fear this one falls firmly into that category.
I can see no reason to tie up all the details with Brains when there is a potential offer on the table, this only muddies the water and imho is not in the shareholders best interests.

I saw Lex today, but if he says to do something it is often more fruitful to go the other way, nothing like as accurate as they used to be, same as questor in DT, now a great contra indicator !

One bright point is that if anyone had felt that they were "long & wrong" everyone has been given the get out of jail card free with this approach.
I posted about 2 or so years ago that they could be attractive to an overseas buyer (weak £) or PE, I never realised all this would happen after they had touched 20p, but certainly the BoD must be pleased not to have to host open shareholders meetings at present, I'm sure they would be asked some sticky questions if so.
FD made an excellent point that Findlay has been a director for 24 years, which I personally feel could be rather too long & to the detriment of us shareholders, question is, will he be director in a years time?

What about your "phantom" placing at 10p, very quiet on that I notice....

Placing 10p on Friday by directors, or an allocation of FREE options to directors with an exercise price of 10p ?
Quite a big difference there old chap. Chance of a placing at 10p looks a long way off to me, buyers seem as rare as rocking horse manure to me.

If a bid does emerge and goes through I will miss your knowledge of the industry when this board closes when the quote has gone. I suspect though, that Platinum have weighed up the chances of success by "going early" and have very possibly made a few of the bigger holders "insiders" already to assess their likely support or not, that is the most common way leaks like this appears to have been emerge.
My guess is the II's will do a dash for the cash largely due to the debt/valution issues you point out, would be very surprised if this were to be contested, for those same reasons.

Sorry to p!ss on your parade but I think you may find that the options are exercisable at 10p, not because the company thinks that they are worth exercising at 10p but because they can not be exercised at any price lower than 10p due to the articles of association of the company. Did it not occur to you that 10p was the conversion price of their convertible notes from October ?

As these options are being granted free of charge there is no cash inflow into the company until they are exercised, if indeed they ever are.....

Dark made a wonderful comment today about supercharger & his reverse Newton effect, I suspect that the man(?) who always claimed we were a step or two behind may conveniently forget that he cleared out at under 50p, possible proof that a Tesla causes dementia ? His lack of presence on this board has certainly raised the level of debate and talking of missing our "Tinder member" seems to have left us alone recently, probably she's too busy on Reddit ?
