A good write up on City Wire pointing out the relative cheapness of DLG as compared to its peers, & that Jefferies have initiated coverage with a target price of 390p.

I started a position earlier this month, added to it recently & again this afternoon, they do look rather like they have been left on the shelf to me....

Certainly reassuring to see it up here after all the shenannigans with its capital reduction etc.
To me 250p ish is justified on valuatons alone, but with the wall of VC cash coming in for the sector, who knows what might happen ?

Bookers is the area to look at in 6 months time, I suspect, after a decent run of hospitality being fully open we hope, as with labour shortages in the industry Bookers should benefit strongly.

If you google direct line + platform there is an intriguing link to a computer weekly article on the DLG platform, seems a game changer for the old red telephone to me.
And the double your money in 10 years was before divis I trust ?!!?

FT says MARS is now above its 200 day moving average, for those of us who are chart followers, I am not really but do like to keep an eye on what they say, as it can have a price influence.

Please don't think I'm trolling you but in my search for platform initiators I read that DLG had just launched major upgrades and thought I'd research it a bit more. At first sight it seems like they are going to slash costs with this & raise levels of business dramatically when the underwriting outlook appears to be benign, so I thought I'd look at share chat to get a feel of things and you were the last poster.
"Double your money in 10 years" is that before or after dividends, presumably before due to their new platform ?
I see the shares are now XD, no problem there but they are also having a buyback programme on top of a chunky yield.
Am I missing anything ?
I realise insurance is a highly volatile area but this sort of insurance shouldn't be too difficult, we know where floods are likely to be, we know the claim ratio on motor, there realy aren't too many known unknowns. It looks cheap to me.

Well at present they seem to be coming off faster than a scrubbers drawers, question is will they hold £3 level or might I pick some up later below that ?
No point in top slicing if you don't take advantage of buying back in at a reasonable profit....

Agreed, divi, free cash flow & working capital are arguably the 3 items to check for a sensible analysis.

Absolutely beyond reproach, just checked the BoD list to ensure there were no "Aussie Diggers" on the remuneration committee...

TBH I've been top slicing quite a bit last few days and hopefully in the next couple as well. Not massively bearish like some but just think we've had a v good run in a lot of stocks so not a bad time to take profits and sit on my hands in cash for a bit.

I top sliced 10% this week, purely because I've had a great ride and my holding is now quite significant so a modest reduction looks prudent, but this is still a long term hold for me.
My first purchases were at about 456p (114p in todays form) and my lowest was sub £4 (90 odd p in todays form) in late March/early April 2020, thus this weeks 355p was frankly too good to turn down.
