Interesting article on the effect of Basel 3 on the cost of gold loans to fund development.

Certainly a different take to the simple interpretation I'd been applying: Reduced effective gold supply => higher gold price; gold explorers/developers/juniors = leveraged bet on POG.
Any views how this affects Condor; we do have a mine to build.
I suspect that depends on which platform you are with. It could just mean that their corporate (in)action department haven't yet allocated the shares (and cash back) that they received on their nominee account. On my Halifax ISA, the money was taken at their deadline - last Monday - but my account is still showing "AGRONOMICS ELECTION (147I)" for the full amount.
Just need to get Leap sold so we can invest in all these good things.
In theory all publicly available information should be in the price so trying to predict short term moves is a mugs game. (Some people, however, are far better at this than I am.)
I'd say with a share as volatile as ANIC, pound averaging is your best bet.
I would imagine so if he wants people to sell. Unless of course there's something we don't know, e.g. a large holder looking for an exit?
I topped up on the notification but it wouldn't be the first time I called news wrong :(
Splitting out the small orders may be difficult. Most people who hold on platforms hold via nominee accounts. I.e. all Peterhouse will have to go on is: AJ Bell nominees want X million, Halifax nominees Y million etc.
Received the following corporate action notification from AJBell

It's not just ECR. EEE and CBR are down too. IMO Western Australian Junior Explorers/Developers are great place to be invested if the gold price continues to climb. I can't see how this can fail to happen with the incessant money printing and the upcoming Basel 3 regulation (httpS://www.goldmoney.com/research/goldmoney-insights/the-end-of-paper-gold-and-silver-markets).
Of course the market can remain irrational longer than we can remain solvent. But at least ECR doesn't need to fund raise anytime soon.
Saw this on another board: httpS://www.goldmoney.com/research/goldmoney-insights/the-end-of-paper-gold-and-silver-markets
This could certain push up the gold price too.
I don't think militant vegans and anarchists trying to force their views on on the general public is particularly helpful. The last thing we need is for meat eating to become (more) part of the culture war.
All that will do is to exacerbate the existing problem we face were the woke left see synthetic meat as corporate, profit driven and unnatural (like GM) and the right see anything that challenges the torturing and killing of animals as an attack on western civilisation.
OK anarchists/anti capitalists smashing up McDonalds is hardly new and is unlikely to bring the corporation to it's knees or create the conditions for the overthrow of capitalism. However neither is the tactic of deliberately making impossible demands (McDonalds meat free by 2025). It's straight from the XR playbook. Likewise expect AR to oppose any, especially western scientific, solutions to the the problems posed by meat production. It's not about meat, it's about the overthrow of western civilisation.
Quote form am article by Stuart Basden, one of the founders of Extinction Rebellion (httpS://medium.com/@plaosmos/extinction-rebellion-isnt-about-the-climate-42a0a73d9d49). "And I’m here to say that XR isn’t about the climate. You see, the climate’s breakdown is a symptom of a toxic system of that has infected the ways we relate to each other as humans and to all life. This was exacerbated when European ‘civilisation’ was spread around the globe through cruelty and violence (especially) over the last 600 years of colonialism, although the roots of the infections go much further back."
These people are not our friends or potential allies.
I'm surprised the market is so sanguine about this. At best, the reason may be true but it is still less than impressive that management weren't aware of this on 30th April.
Doesn't smell right. Sold.
Unfortunately you're right. Spending money implies placing :( Unless of course we actually manage to shift Georgia for cash.... I'm not holding my breath on that one.
It's probably the right thing to do to develop the company, but not great for the short term SP.
Now available as a corporate action.
However: "Please note that any elections made will not be submitted to the Company until after our internal election deadline has passed. If the Broker Option is closed prior to our internal election deadline, we will not be able to submit your election."
Oilmanmike, Thanks for this info. It is interesting since I receive the following reply from AJ Bell customer service. Hopefully the problem is with their customer service team rather than their ability to process corporate actions.
