Another option to put forth and to consider might be holding board accountable for the mess they have created and let the same guys work with 20% salary and take share options at say 0.5p in lieu of rest of their salary. Then let the same guys work out the escape route for themselves and feel the pain. No bonuses either in cash or shares until the sp reaches a set value (say 2p).
I agree to some that finding someone to take up the reigns with immediate effect and rescue them might not be the best option - probably the right option about a year ago.
As far as BoD are happy to sacrifice their salaries, bonuses and buy some shares to show their commitment, I am happy for them to continue. Getting them to step down now is like asking the captain to get off the ship whislt its on the verge of drowning, this is just my opinion.
