It is not really a loss, although a company would like to maximise the price they receive and hence technically more profit. The Hedge is buying the company certainty of price thus reducing risk and debt holders often demand Hedges. It is more a lost opportunity cost.

….and if CNE were so keen to merge with Tullow why don’t they ditch the NewMed merger (ha, ha), buy Tullow bonds and announce a takeover.

When TB pulled out of Darktrace bid the RNS’s stopped after 1 or 2 days. So yeah, weird. Maybe they both are secretly wanting to get back together if something happens?

Bet they are a bit upset selling at 299.20 pence!

Can’t see TB coming back to the table this soon and they can only bid again under strict conditions. Whilst I think a bid is ultimately inevitable it could be many months down the line.
It looks like a reaction to the dollar exchange rate and director buys instilling a bit of confidence in the market appetite for Darktrace.
However, you never know….maybe a bid or news on new customers.

Just over two weeks till Trading and Operations Update Thursday 3rd November.
Maybe more buybacks announced then. Let’s hope so even if the SP has recovered somewhat.
