RE: GGP - Explorer - Miner - Both?16 Apr 2021 00:37
Hey Learner, good post!
I'm a holder and I believe GGP will provide me with a great return.
I don't profess to have a great knowledge when it comes to investing but I do spend an awful lot of time researching in order to learn.
If I don't get something I ask thought provoking questions... I have absolutely no wish to upset any of the seasoned and knowledgeable holders here.
Gervaise called it with the company's expansion in the Paterson region (Havieron) and to be honest I feel this is what is propelling GGP (going to be a behemoth, no doubts there in my mind) But is seems to be the only thing of value that GGP hold? (other projects seem to be somewhat stagnant - and yes I am aware of timelines when it cones to mining)
Ernest Giles was an earlier call and for some reason seemed to sit on the back burner until of course Shaun et al made the decision to more than double the holding (perhaps that was because focus and resources were geared toward Havieron?)
Shaun is a well heeled CFO, he has a track record of being "involved" in the building of companies but what does that mean?
Is it a case of "this is what we are going to do and we need you to tell us a. can we afford to do it and if not, how can we best raise capital, b. if we succeed where will we be, c. if we fail, where will we be?
To the best of my knowledge, Shaun has never been a CEO and therefore the market have nothing to run with. Earnest is his first notable move and he must be aggressive in moving operations forward there in order to back up the rhetoric.
Let's not forget Shaun was not poached, he was out of a job following the merger of Northern Star and Saracen, was it a toss of the coin as to whether the CFO position went to Shaun or Morgan? In footballing terms, what teams are able to poach top managers and what teams look at who is "available"? Perhaps it all just boils down to "what can we offer"?
