V low volume today.
Yet we have performed well. Very well compared to the wider market.
Anyone got any theories as to why?
Assuming no announcements imminent, as vol would have been bigger.
Algos turn off on low vol days? Don’t think so. They can manipulate more on low vol days.

In fairness its not Goldy thats driving this down everyday.
Algos are. on low volume, and they can because they dont run into any buyers.
The reason there are no buyers is the IR dept is not getting the positives out there.
Thats their job, theyre not doing it!

Or did Apollo pull the bid because of lack of financing?

It doesn’t stop a new bid coming in.
If Lord Chas didn’t know about it and a bid emerges tomorrow, he has done nothing wrong.
It just means that they are not currently in discussions with anyone.
Having turned away a bidder without consideration.

Like I said earlier, I was pleased to see that he purchased at 86 and not 76.
I did think that would add a few pence to the sp.
I underestimated how much this stock has lost favour.
I know people on here say relax and let MM do his thing. It doesn’t really seem to be working.
We have a top chairman in place now. If he were to replace his IR team, I think we’d be far better off. And the shareholders and the press would get behind him to run the company and deliver shareholder value.

The BOD do not own a majority of shares.
They should have let the shareholders decide.
If the shareholders then rejected the bid for being too low, after the BOD publicised their prospects for the company going forward as a PLC, then no one would complain. And the share price would be substantially higher.
Where we are now is not down to algos, short selling, Oliver Shah manipulation. It is entirely the fault of the BOD.

You’re right. Unfortunately the company allows this manipulation to occur.
Shorters are fearless mainly because of the management’s poor handling of life as a PLC and particularly the shocking IR dept.
I think they should replace the IR manager. It wouldn’t cost them much. Maybe it’s on Lord Allen’s to do list?

The BOD wouldn’t even engage with a 170p bid.

Meanwhile, dreadful sp performance. We should be up 10% after the fall we’ve had.

It’s obviously good news. But it doesn’t mean more good news is imminent.
It doesn’t stop someone bidding that the BOD don’t know about. But the company can’t now release a positive trading update, separation, etc. Not for a short while at least.
But I assume, that when the news flow does eventually materialise, it will indeed be positive.

How can there now be a string of positive news flow?
Surely, director’s buying means no news is imminent?

Most seem to agree that the BOD are on a gravy train and serve their own interests. This doesn’t bode well for us PIs. The only way we will see value is from a bid.
But whilst the golden share is in situ, this won’t now happen. MM said that he would give up his golden share, but he isn’t in any rush to do so, that’s if he does indeed stick to his word.
It would be easy to appease the shareholders with the odd update. The BOD are too complacent even to do that.

The hidden message is, directors are happy to keep this a plc.
They get their large salaries, perks, share options.
And in the case of THG, are not answerable to anyone.
They do not need to buy more shares, theyre loaded up with options.
Periodically MM dishes them out to the staff for nothing anyway.
