But just because he has an anonymous twitter account with a tiny amount of followers, doesnt make him Warren Buffett.

This isnt a share for the nervous disposition.
On red days (of which there are many) loads of posts bleating on about cash burn, bankruptcy, blah blah next stop 50p.
On blue days (few and far between) - PE bidders circling, something is imminent, blah blah next stop 170p.

City spy has 376 followers and no track record.
Why do people think he has any more of an idea about whats going on at THG than the rest of us?
He's obviously long and wrong, like the rest of us, but why is he quoted here? and does anybody really think he moves the share price?
If Goldy set up a twitter account and kept tweeting negatives, would we all suddenly start heeding him?

I doubt if it’s director buys. Board members earn their big salaries and hang around until MM issues them some freebies to the cost of us shareholders.
He’s a great bloke, but you wouldn’t want to be invested in one of his companies!!!!

Interesting. There was a buyer around yesterday (yes, I know the sp was down yesterday) and there’s a buyer around again today.

Anacott, Youre now hoping that we get to £1.50 eventually "under our own steam". Yet you ****ged me off for suggesting that the BOD should accept bids over £2.
You have lost all credibility.
There were other bidders circling, they would have bid by now.
Unfortunately, we now have to wait till the world recovers.
THG, with its current management, will be one of the last SPs to recover.

The situation here is similar to Sports Direct.
The city hated the management. Hated Mike Ashley. Bad press. The talk was that he would take it private. Eventually the sp did well when the company was so successful that it could no longer be ignored. MM is not taking this private. Why would he? He has all the benefits of a PLC and is running it like it is private.
The problem is, like sports direct, the recovery in sp could take years.

Why doesn’t this ever get manipulated up?

Why isn’t Allen insisting they put out a trading update saying all is good?

The bid was £1.70, rejected.
Obviously, you must always reject the first bid. And come out with a bs line like "significantly undervalued".
However, it doesnt mean its true or that the BOD believe it to be true.

The only bit of good news we've had is the chairman's purchase.
One has to assume, THG isnt going bankrupt, and in fact, is doing ok.
People that say the sp isnt the company, are right, but, unfortunatley, a low sp has consequences.
One consequence is any buyer, will take into account the current sp when valuing the company.
So any thoughts of a bid north of £1.70 have now disappeared.

Hopefully MM has got his head down, running the company and not concerned about the sp.
Lord Allen is ignoring the flim flam.
But i still think that IR should be quietly speaking to IIs, supporting the sp.

As we know, this stock is very "leaky". The sp is telling us that nothing is imminent.
This will continue to drift until news. Even then, it may rally for one day, then back to drifting.
Spin off is not happening. Why would they spin anything off in this environment?
The problem is IR do nothing, and the BOD dont really care about the sp. In fact the lower it is, the cheaper they get given their stock.
We need a hostile bid, That cant happen with the golden share in place.

With all these positives. Chairman purchase. BOD think we’re undervalued at £1.70. Etc. Etc. Why is the sp so low? with no buyers. Surely the overhang from no bid disappointment has unwound now. Yet no one is buying.

It is standard practice for PLCs to announce on sp movements.
Just to reiterate guidance or something.
I have no idea what they’re playing at. They must see the sp movement every day. They must have IIs asking what’s going on. Yet they make the decision to do nothing. This disregard for shareholders is the reason the share has no support. Disgraceful.
