Does anybody really believe that Barclays are trying to drive the price down so that they can close a bear position or some other nefarious reason?

The conspiracy theorists are out in force today.
There’s simply sellers. Fed up PIs. Etc. No buyers. Stock is uninvestable. BOD need to say all is ok. That’s all it needs. They either can’t or won’t because they’re not concerned about shareholders, only themselves. Either way is very worrying.

I agree. The bids were made by mates of MM in order to flush out higher bids. He even said what he would accept. None were forthcoming. MM said he would take private. That’s not happening. So we have to hang in there and pray.

MM promised that he would give up his golden share. This is a bit of legal paper work. Could be done in a day. He clearly has no intention of doing so.
We can now only hope the the economy and the company comes good. And they don’t burn through all the cash beforehand.
I’m assuming they’re not in immediate trouble, the barc note says they don’t need to raise money and chairman’s purchase.
My fear is that Allen is just a figure head, MM is still running the show and he’s out of his depth.

Strong recovery in rest of market. THG does indeed seem uninvestable. Hard to ignore the house broker downgrade. As I say, Barclays notorious for letting share prices affect their analysis instead of the other way round. Easy to be a sheep. But whilst IR do nothing the sp will continue lower. Why would anyone buy? IIs need to be told the bullish prospects. It amazes me that the share has come down so far, so quickly, and the continue to do nothing.

Also. There were several bidders, allegedly, they all walked away!!! And this was at a time when PE was desperate to spend and do deals. Very worrying.

It’s amazing that the house broker values at 100p. Yet the BOD wouldn’t even entertain a bid of 175p +
It makes you think that they haven’t got shareholders interests at heart.
How can there be such a disconnect between the company and its broker???

Before any bids. There were rumours, I got slated for not being as delusional as the uber bulls.

Down 7% today, BOO down 2%.
Assuming the City Spy is back in hiding!

The uber rampers were furious with me for suggesting we accept 225-250, saying my views would cost PIs money.
They were valuing THG at £5, £6, £8!!
Only numbers they looked at was revenue!!!

MADE has shown us that revenues are irrelevant its all about profits and cash burn.

also, the fact that Citi, have a 220 valuation and Barclays have a 100 valuation, shows that they are both shooting in the dark, and have had zero contact with the company.
Another reason the stock is so out of favour, and uninvestable as far as the city is concerned.

Well normally a company's IR dept is in close contact with brokers, steering them in the right direction, so they can be accurate with their analysis. So that there arent any surprises/shocks on results day.
I'm sure THG's IR dept are all over this!!!!!!!!!!!!

Barclays are terrible. They let the sp affect their predictions. Not vice versa.

Why hasn’t MM given up his golden share yet?
He said he would about a year ago now. This shouldn’t take so long. Also we can’t get a premium listing until this has happened!!! If he’s untrustworthy on this front, why should he be trusted to deliver on all his other promises?

How can there be a hostile bid, with the golden share still in situ?

BOO up 4.5% today, same as THG.
I wonder if the city spy has heard rumblings about them too????
